Default Skeith's Amateur Photography (May Include Images)

Well, I do like to snap a few pictures whenever I leave the safety of the house, and I thought I might share my snaps with you guys.

Hopefully you guys will like them, but if you have any advice to snapping good pics, I'd be more then happy to listen.

Here we go.
Some pictures of Owl, Hawks and Eagles I saw when I visited Glamis Castle last year.

Please don't ask me whats species each of them are. I'm not an avianologist :P

A very cool car that was also at Glamis Castle

There were other clunkers, but this one really caught my attention most.

Cairn o Mount, Scotland, and views from it.

Sunset, as seen from my Aunts house

Well, thats all folks, for now at least.

Next time I go out, I'll be sure to take my camera.

any C&C welcome ;D

We can tell these pictures are fake. Apparently you took them in Scotland, but that can't be true, you can tell because it's not raining so hard you're being hammered into the ground, in any of them. :P

Nice pictures though dude, especially nice sunset.

Some advice:
1 - Read about the rule of thirds. A lot of your focus interest on the first few images is in the centre.

2 - Some of the landscapes are a little meh because there is nothing to focus on. Get a point of interest and use the landscape around it.

3 - The sunset photo would look lovely if you learn how to use your manual settings. The sky looks nice but it is overexposed leaving the foreground too dark.

Otherwise, good stuff man. Keep them coming.
Have a look at this guy's photography, it's a good friend of mine and he has taught me a thing or two about getting better in photography - he actually earns his living from wedding photography, but gets to do a lot of band stuff and his landscape stuff is phenomenal.

The Slovenia ones in his travel section is particularly impressive imo.

The rule of thirds is always a good rule to look at when trying to become successful in photography. Heres the simplest way of explaining that!
(You'll pick it up quick)

Put a mental frame the same as this in your mind, wherever the green dots are, A point of intrest should be on them.
Say you're photographing a person, try and have their eyes close to two of the dots as you can. This makes for good composition.

Another point is composition. When you're uploading your picture, if you have an image editing program, such as Photoshop or Paintshop, don't be afraid to crop "boring" bits out. Thats fine, I do it all the time!

For other tips, i'd have to know what type of camera you're using!
hope this is helpful! xx

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll remember that for next I go out.

I'll probably snap around my village, as there is a scenic "Tourist" route around it.

Would you believe that that was the second one I saw in as many days? the first was someones regular everyday car, and my uncle and I had a long convo with the driver about it.

Clearly I should have chosen a sunnier day, but chances are I'd be working then : I also need to go somwhere with decent stuff to photo, asa countryside village isn't that exciting :P

I had the grid on my Cameras display, so I tried to follow the Rule of Thirds.
