I haven't read the book, but I saw the movie.
I have mixed opinions.

The special effects were obviously excellant.

I had a few quirks...why did the aliens die?The ending seemed odd and too well, just dumb.

I think they died because of the human blood they absorbed, and since we have different blood types..only some would feed them and others would poisin.

Is my reasoning correct?

Please notice you're 16 and I'm 13. We also have different points of view.

Read the book, have no intentions of ever seeing the film if I can help it.

Never read the book, seen the film.

I was very impressed with it

The aliens died because they contracted terran diseases that they had no defense against

The film is very good, the ending is a bit confusing though. For younger people, it's hard to see that bacteria is what killed the aliens.

As for as a standalone film goes, this was really good, although it didn't stick too much to the original though. (Not saying that's a good or bad thing)
