Default Hunt for Gollum

Has anybody seen anything on this? I watched the trailer...it was...okay. Gollum's voice really bother's me as I can do a better impersonation. Aragorn seemed a little, odd.

I don't know. It looks pretty good. If they follow the storyline they'll be light years beyond that idiot Peter Jackson. So we'll see.

He was only commissioned to make a movie of the greatest story ever written...he only had to actually read the books and put them into movies. But he wasn't content with that. He felt the need to "improve" upon Tolkien's masterpiece by changing the plot and making alterations to the story, by cutting some scenes to make room for his "novel ideas" he effectively ruined the movie for me.

Not that I'm sore about it or anything. :P :

Unfortunately that's Hollywood for you. I don't think there's a book out there that was made into a direct and exact translation once it hit any kind of film. :-[

Oh no.... you're one of those Bombadil lovers, aren't you Emmy?

I thought Jackson's version was far better than the cartoon at least.

Actually, no. I'm one of those fanatical Tolkien fans who knows that the Bombadil adventures were written as Tolkien rambled his way along trying to find a plot. FotR was the best of the three movies, IMO. But all were horrible bastardizations of the trilogy.

Yes, the cartoons were awful as well.

Personally, I was content with three hours of vista/battle porn, rather than eight hours of song, dance, and characters that have nothing to do with the greater story.
