Default Oklahoma D-Day 2010 Roll Call

Okay, who all's wanting to go?

Who all thinks they can actually go? :P

So far, we have:
  • Me (Cause I'm a selfish guy that'll talk about himself first)
Icer (Cause he's the one who decided to do this)
Gecko (Cause he wants to show off his 31337 Canadian skillz)
*Grandpa_Ducky (Cause he's going to rob a bank to come with us....right?)
*Ashtoruin (Cause he's going to disappear in the middle of the night and leave a pillow behind to play as him. :P)

(*maybe)

[hr]

It's in Oklahoma. There's a maximum number of players (4,000) and it's on a Saturday. Now, it's a week long event, but the actually D-Day assault is on Saturday. The stuff during the week are just a bunch of skirmishes and stuff. $5 camping fee for week.

There are a lot of units and stuff that enlist folks prior to the D-Day assault. I've seen mostly Allies (82nd Airborne, 4th Infantry Division, 101st Airborne) and a few Axis units.

[hr]

It's supposed to be alright for first timers or hardcore scenario players. Big assault stuff. Paratrooper units get dropped off at their LZ in the middle of the night. Haven't heard anything bad (except one forum post where a guy whined about the refs and how it's stacked against Allies.) There's a 5-5 win/loss ratio for both sides.

[hr]

Personally, I don't have anything. :P I outgrew all my dad's old fatigues and I don't have any goof about clothes. My paintball goggles have disappeared (good riddance though, I hated these one in particular.) I do have my own paintball marker though, a Tippmann 98 Custom.

[hr]

Discuss. :P

I've wanted to go for the past several years but I don't know how money's going to be at that point in time... I'm hoping to be able to make the trip, but I'm not sure...

Yeah, I'll be coming (Cass might, depends on if someone will watch the kid :P) and I'll actually have better gear by then!

My vibe with T98C as backup, electronic loader, and lots of CO2 and Paintball pods >

Bah, electric loaders and other gizmos. :P

I just need a vest or something. Last scenario game I used my military issue winter jacket with all the pockets crammed full of paintballs and a two way radio. :P Because of this, I was stuck as the ammo bearer. That was nice, what with the whole "everyone wanting to keep me alive so they can keep getting paint" but past that, not my thing. I'm a lightweight scoutish sort of player. The SpecOps definition would be "Dagger" or "Scout." I'm more comfortable (and accurate) with two pistols than I am with my Tippmann.

Chickpea might be able to go, but I'd have to first lead a supar sekrit OPERATION to kidnap her (well, she'll've graduated and be 18, so technically, it won't be kidnap...but tell that to her mother) and all. She'd probably be a complete nub to paintball too. Unless I can fit in a game with her between now and then.

[hr]

I'm thinking, two cases of paint (ha, that'll be plenty! Especially if I manage to get some pistols :P) and a Ranger battalion. But you have to show up during the week and qualify.

Tak, I've been pondering swinging down to Alabama at the end of the semester, find an area down there and we'll play.

You just have to get me lodging. :P

Double posting so others know I posted

Here's what I will be doing when I go, I will be bringing a Tent, and probably heading down at the beginning of the week. In addition to the tent I will be bringing a grill, and propane for the grill. I might even bring a cast iron pot for some different meals, that I'm sure everyone would like. I would be willing to share the tent for cheepness, however I don't know any of you(not that its stopped me before, too many times at Scouts).
