Default The IKEA experience

I'm sure many of you have heard of this Swedish chain of stores (Bort! Bort!).
After I moved to the city of Trondheim, I realized there was such a store very close to my school. I planned going there simply for a new kitchen-knife, and to see what manner of store this was.
And I must say...
They have just about everything a person need in it's home. Furniture and equipment for every room, to several levels of prices. Toys, kitchen-gear and all accessories possible...
They even have a resturant, with cheap and really tasty food. (Sweedish meetbawls, nom nom!)
And the customer-service...I've never seen the like (Except that time in London... )

I simply wanted a kitchen-knife...ended up with a bookshelf, a normal shelf, computer/work table, a floor-table, plates and cutlery for 4 people, coffee-press and a lot more...
Woah...this gonnae hurt me wallet, I thought. But what the hell! Cost me a total of 1150 NOK. (Equivalent of about 115 British Pounds)

Love the store, love the large range of wares to choose from, love the nice people working there, and love the food. Hate the bus with little room for taking home all my crap. Luckily, I had a friend close by with a car. and we could rent a small wagon to bring the stuff home. (FREE OF CHARGE! :O)

I'm considering getting married there as well x3

Anyone else have tried the IKEA experience?

I'm from sweden. Of course I've been to IKEA

Altho, its only been bad experiences from my side. It's extremely dull there for a child, and it seems impossible for adults to stay in the store less then 3 hours.

They're opening one in my city in a couple months Which is really great, because one of my friends' mom is working there.

I love Ikea for the smell...

It's one of those weird shops that don't feel like a shop.

Let's see....I bought my bed from IKEA. I bought my cupboard from IKEA. I bought my study table from IKEA. My mom bought 3 sofas for our living room. Actually, most of my furniture are from IKEA :P Yes, we love IKEA. It's cheap!

Cheap, stylish and chic. Love it. Whilst you're in Ikea your imagination pretty much soars with what you can transform your room into.

That's not even mentioning the fact that Ikea is responsible for the greatest product placement in cinema history. (Fight Club)

I have to agree with SILK... It has a unique smell about it... kinda woody... I love the fact in the quick - selfservice areas its like a super market!! aisles of flatpacks!! Its probably what it feels like being a pixie shopping in a place that only does cereal boxes ;D

And Skullz is right.. It's physically impossible to be in there for less than 3 hours...

DAMMIT I WANT TO GO TO IKEA! oh well we're moving in a few months ;D

I get all my kitchenware from IKEA (giant coffee cups FTW!)

However, since I already have basic furniture, I don't need (read: afford) stuff like beds and tables.

They're pretty good. I believe we've got a bunch of stuff from there now, though it's mostly being replaced, as my wife has a taste for more tailored stuff now.

Can't beat it in terms of stuff for price, though.

On certain sundays, attendance has been higher in Britains IKEA stores than it has been in its churches.
