Default Modelling injuries.

You slip with the modelling knife, over twist the pin vice, even stab yourself with a pair of tweezers, suddenly you are possesed by a daemon of Khorne to become your very own bloodletter.

Everyone has done it, it's not your own model till it has a uniquely reddy/brown glaze on part of it.
Whats your worst modelling injury?

Mine is from when I was starting modelling, I like to play around with the sprue, most people see it as rubbish, I see it as free modelling material.
So shaving away at a part with a scalpel, get the shaving stuck to the blade. Wipe on the shorts.
Nothing goes wrong. I repeat this process for about an hour until I pulled the scalpe the wrong way across my shorts. Gash in the shorts, and a mtching one on my leg. Nothing major, but needin a couple of plasters. And that hurt pulling it off.

Thats mine, whats yours?

I've never had any modelling injuries. I've had a few scenery making injuries. I was making a wire mesh fence thing and I had very sharp poles (Actually wooden kebab sticks made to look like poles) holding it together. I wasn't watching/concentrating and went to pick it up. The stick thing went straight into my hand, it also went in at an angle [Which I didn't notice] so when I tried to pull it out, it wouldn't come out! It hurt lots because I had to twist it out of my hand!

Thats a new one!
I've lost count of the times that I've glued my fingers together, but gling them to a table is new!

That bending plastice techniques is best doe with a pair of tweezers and a stove element, it's cool how he plastic suddenly goes soft and then hardenes again as soon as you take it away. Good for adding extra details.
I have a friend who played 2nd edition 40K on the floor, and leant over to rest on his hand and put it right on one of the old gretchin (the ones with spikes on top) that was being used as an area marker! The spike broke off in his hand, was rathe messy I believe.

And don't step on one of the old metal hormagaunts in bare feet!

If you superglue your self to somthing, a modeling knife is your bestest friend.

drilling something so i could pin it, dropped the drill, busted the bit...so i decided to drill with my modelliing knofe...worked fine in plastic, but then i needed to pin a metal bit...and it was tkaing ages...so i pressed harder, and hey presto, i slipped, drilling my thumb pretty much to the bone with a modelling knife...could barely use it for like 2 weeks...and when i jerked away, i got blood everywhere (my walls, my computer monitor, my desk, the miniature)

oh, and Kais: stay in the hobby long enough, and its almsot a guarantee you'll injure yourself some time...especially if you start doing a lot of converting
