Default The GW Wikipedia controversy...

Just a little something I noticed a while back:

I remember the Wikipedia page for Games Workshop having a "controversy" section once. Now, it has "mysteriously disappeared"...

It is not unheard of for staff in a business to edit Wikipedia articles to remove sections which show their business in an unfavourable light. On FT's strange finds on the net there's a page which lists various little "edits" by businesses. It seems that GW has now sunk to even further depths of corruption. Not that I'm suprised or anything. :

Shame on you, FT, you should know how to use a wiki. Go to "history", find the last version with it, and either revert it (reverts everything though) or just copy the text. No need to remember!

Good lord... :sadnshocked:

I've lost my mind

I blame it on all of you changing your avatars too much! I can't tell at a glance who's who!

Hmm... I never saw the 'Controversy' section.

On a similar note, has anyone looked at the External Links at the bottom of the Tau Empire page? ;D

I feel ya. I remember people more on avatar than name. I was just browsing the City of Heroes forums for nostalgia (and getting up to date for if I renew my account soon), and I was very thankful for all the stubborn folks who never changed their avatars in the past year. :P

You sir have dishonoured me! If you dishonour me again, I shall hang your limp, broken body from my Warlord Titan like tiny banner and I shall wear you skull as a helmet! :P

Too much work, besides I don't like to go messing about with history like that, so I haven't tried.

Hmmm, seems some people have just added a few more links to the bottom, and I was aware of Tau Online being one of them for quite some time.

Just htought i'd point out that key word for you all.

Just because it's on the GW page doesn't necessarily mean that it was GW, Form what i've seen of it, eihter Richsatan, or Darkson, who plays GW, and has critcisms of GW on his page edited out the comments & criticisms, because it needed sources citing or something.

Neither user really looks likes they work for GW, as I would assume that GW wouldn't set up an account just for the sake of editing their articles when they can do it without an account. Further to that, editing is still open to everyone, and if GW were goign to clamp down on what is said about them on wikipedia i'm sure that they would have restricted the ability to edit the page.

I know people love to have a chance to have a grumble at GW, but we shouldn't be so quick to do so when we don't have all the facts.
