Default I feel so old

I haven't collected warhammer in about 1 1/2 years, so i felt really old when visiting the local model shop with my mate. Honsetly, we looked really strange, when we were pointing out "new" models which were probably a year old, and talking about "back in our day" :. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I have. I was out of the hobby for several years before getting back into it. For example, I learned about a brand new race called Tau (Which had been out for a number of years). Tyranids were completely different. Necrons were plastics. Dark Eldar had gone from the new race to the practically dead race (no offense DE players, its simply a matter of GW not supporting the race.) I find myself always talking about the old days of 2nd edition.

oh, hell, yeah. fairly often, too...every time i go back to uni for the semester, i fall outta the loop. i can't keep up with full-time study, work and my drinking habits and still have the time and money for warhammer...so every time uni break rolls round, i go in and check out what's new...you wouldn't believe how shocked i was when i found out that not only do the eldar have a new codex, but they got a plastic wraithlord mini

heh, talking about that, i went into the local games store on saturday and asked for revised editions rares...the guy asked me to qualify what i meant by revised edition...i mean, come on...there is only ONE edition that has actually been named "revised" by common usage, and when i did qualify and said "3rd" the little ****er turned up his nose at me. i almost punched the bastard. i don't care that i'm looking for something older, i have my reasons. so why not just say "look, sorry, we don't really have much of that edition"

btw, were sol ring and wrath of god never re-released after revised or something?? cos apparently they've gone way up in value...i paid no more than like 8 for the wrath, and one for the sol ring

Heh, I played Games-Workshop's LOTR quite some time ago (when I was like 7...so you couldn't really call it playing :P...my grandparents didn't know anything about it, thought it was like a board game and gave the starter set to me for some holiday) hardly used it, and then used it on and off a year or so later. Then I stopped...and now they've completely changed it! Ahh!

So no more LOTR for me I like 40k much more anyway.

well, sorta. When the new edition rolled around, my amount of playing was fairly slim. I turned up to games workshop and found that my tanks could move!!

THAT sent a shock through the system.

I've been in the hobby for 9 years. Half of my life. I think I know what you mean

In that case, so is sex. Therefore, pornstars and prostitutes are professional athletes.

Well, I started about a year and a half ago, but after about two months and battle for maccrage + 1tac squad I quit... I forget why. But then last summer I saw my old minis and was like Oh... Warhammer.. And i really figured out the rules had a few fun games (picture 10 marines vs. 15 nids, at a summer camp, with neither player knowing much more than basic rules ;D) and got back into it. Afterward I felt quite embarrassed about how little I had failed to comprehend before.

By the way, keep in mind i'm just 12: it's kind of hard to feel "old"
