In that case, so is sex. Therefore, pornstars and prostitutes are professional athletes.

BLECH

Those don't look like transformers, they look like twisted heaps of metal. The old cartoons actually looked like cars that turned into robots, these ones look like cars that turn INSIDE OUT and become robots. The flames on optimus are a dumb idea and I can't believe they didn't make bumblee a volkswagen! That's the whole freakin' point of bumblebee!

Well, you have to blame the production crew for that. Reason being? Real-life. They want it to be logical and yet cool at the same time.

Quote:
The Transformers are being created with a mix of close-up props by KNB Effects, and Industrial Light and Magic's CGI. Heavily stressed in their film incarnations are advanced kinematics and realistic engineering, drawing away from the classic blocky look and avoiding the mass shifting and disappearing insides of previous incarnations. There is also a new eye design, as glimpsed in the teaser poster, to make the characters more emotionally engaging, in contrast to the general glowing blue Autobot and red Decepticon eyes. It is unknown if the color scheme remains.During a transformation, thousands of parts of the body move.

All the characters travel to Earth using their bodies as "protoform" spaceships, before reformatting into Earth forms. All of the Transformers feature standard and battle modes for their heads
And this one is directly from the producer's mouth

Optimus Prime and all the characters will be in there, they wont look…I hope they don’t look the same because I think those characters wont hold up on motion pictures. I think that’s why that animated movie never worked. Like we took a picture of Optimus Prime and put him out in Central Park and it looked silly, and in doing so we have to make it more real for a broader audience than the original series was.

And this is what he say as well,
We’re definitely staying true to the (TV Series) Transformers

Personally, I think this guys are much better than the old ones.......and logical. I mean how on earth can a 2-story high Megatron can become a Walther PPK in the exact proportions? Weird indeed.

Ok I have to say those are good points. I guess I'm just being a sentimentalist. That or maybe I don't like this new aesthetics of them. I'll withhold judgment until I see the film.

Though I do have to say it's nice to see they're using Animatronics/robots as well as CG. To many movies these days default to CGI every single effect shot, and frankly that doesn't usually work.

I don't know all,

He's already not "True" to the original in that 1) Brawl was an Autobot, not a decepticon. 2) Scorpnok never appeared in the original series, he was a new character in the comic book "headmasters saga" that only saw light as a mini-series type AMV. (And I think a cameo in the second series) Not to mention that he was a freaking walking fortress... 3) Bumblebee hould be a VW bug. (Its a little thing, but it's important) 4) We have frenzy, but no Rumble, Lazerbeak or Soundwave? Many fans didn't even know that Frenzy had a name compared to his cohorts. 5) The fact that a 2 story robot could transform into a human-hand-sized walther PPK with the firepower of a battleship was a part of the magic of the series. It didn't have to make sense, it was fun... (Besides, hasn't any of these sci-fi writers ever heard of "implosive mass compensators"?)
I do have to admit that the other new transormation modes make sense, and that the robots look more realistic though. I'll want to see ti just to find out if it has any chance of being good, or if hollywood is just gouging another chunk out of my childhood. (Like they did with the newer Transformers Animated Series)

An Undecided,
Ged of Paragon
