I'm doing a senior thesis on the topic of porn censorship, and to get a better direction on what to write, I need to get a better look at some people's opinions. This isn't intended to start a flamewar, even though it's a touchy topic for some.

If you say yes or no, please state why. Also, if you want, state why other people should go along with your opinion (optional).

Well, I did that as my research paper for my college work.

As far as I am concern, people within them have some kind of 'auto -censor ' within them. They tend to censor stuff that they think are not appropriate. It would be wise to go in that direction when you want to talk about censorship.

And also people always tend to know about the taboo. The more you restrict someone to not watch porn, the more they want to watch porn.

Assuming you are referring to internet porno, no it should not be censored. If you really don't want to look at it, then don't. It seems to be a choice as to what you type into your address bar, so why would it be censored? It isn't against the law (in the USA) because its all about adults. If you don't want your children looking at such things there are many programs that will stop them from going to inapropriate sites. Again, this is a choice someone makes when they go to look on the internet.

Actually if they can't censor the porn on the internet. this is beacuse the internet is not bound by any one country.

What I meant by (in the USA) is that I don't know other countries views on porno, in some governments in the middle-east, they censor the internet, I would think porno would be some of the things they censor.

Are you talking about blocking pornographic websites, or actually having genitalia in porn blotted out with a big sign saying "Censored"?

If it's the former, I don't think it should be censored; some offshoots (child pornography, exploitative/rape porn) should never sully the internet, but short of dunking the webmasters for hosting such sites in hydrocloric acid, one can't do much.

Porn is generally a good release for males, and I swear that most guys would have a ****ing clue what they were doing if it wasn't for the "pr0n" they watched as adolecents.

If the question is about physically blocking nudity out of pornographic images/videos... it realy defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

Ha ha. This is getting quite silly. However, I do agree that if you don't want to watch porn, then don't type those URLs in your address bar. If you want to, then go ahead, by all means. These people are exposing themselves because they want to. If they want to, the that's fine by me.
