ordo malleus, all the way. these hard core badasses eat daemons for breakfast. xenos just deal with the odd nid or two and hereticus flame some rebels.

Malleus is going to stomp you into the ground. You won't know it until it's too late. You won't even know about them, and you won't exist long enough to have that knowledge. They're the secret unsung heros. They're powerful, ridiculously so. But they're not bad like some other branches of the Inquisition in the manner that they can strike fear into anything. You're a peasant, you won't even know about the Malleus, but if you did, you wouldn't care--you'd know they'd probably never even care that your cells had life in them. You're not their enemy.

Xenos is hunting down and learning everything they can about those alien scum. The only thing scary about them is that they might taint you with something nasty that they found growing on the end of their needles. You aren't going to be particularly worried when they go strolling through your village, or your megaplex or even your planet, unless you're an alien, or unless you're going to be a test subject. Both of which are not true if you're reading this anyways. They're not as scary to most. They're just dabbling with scary things that frighten superstitious groups of Inquisitors who have knots in their panties.

[size=11pt]Hereticus[/size] is not only going to hunt you down, but you're all under the evil eye. No one is safe, everyone is under suspicion. No one feels comfy when Hereticus strolls into town. You start to have doubts... "Are they here... for me? My babies? My uncle who we keep locked up in the basement because he talks to himself and touches people?" Everyone sweats when Hereticus is searching about.

... Hereticus is more bad. Nothing is safe... not you, your dead relatives, or even aliens. It's all subject to their spacious eye and if you're the one they point at, then Emperor help you (though he probably won't...).

i think this is more about who's a badass, not who's bad. while you are right, the ordo hereticus is not someone you want to see(having the malleus in your town usually isn't good either since it means that something is within soul-sucking reach of your favorite pub), the ordo malleus are more badass in that they are though, hung-ho macho type people. the hereticus spend their time hunting people down, carrying out investigations and questioning. then you have trials and sentencing and the whole enchiladad before you actually get down to putting the smack down on the unworth. the malleus just teleports in, kills anything in the room and then leaves a few seconds before bombinb the rest of the building from orbit.

i love both the greyknights and the stormtrooper models. greyknight terminators look awesome, they actually look like Knights. but the witch hunters ahve the games-day special edition witch hunter, the one who looks like van helsing, with the plamsa pistol with that revolver handle. looks ace, its got that old school/high tech mixture i love about 40K.

I say if you see malleus stalking around town you and everyone else on the plant would be subject to orbital Bombardment. Too many witnesses. They are secret and will not be discovered at any cost.

Ghostbusters, Witch Hunters and Men In Black...it's a tough call.

The Malleus Inquisitor has to fight greater daemons in personal combat- something the Primarchs had to do and even Sanguinius, one of the best up close and personal, broke a sweat doing it. These guys are pure power, up and down.

The Hereticus Inquisitors don't need flashy tricks or magic sticks, they deal with everyone and everything- including you. Even seeing one of these people is reason to be tortured...and your friends and family too. How these guys at all even benefit the Imperium with all their massacring of the innocent defies logic- but that's the point. These are the Bash badarses of the Imperium- sure, they may do far more harm than good most days...but they are the absolutely last people you'd ever even remotely dare messing with, whoever you are.

The Xenos Inquisitors deal with the most popular enemies of the Emperor- aliens. There's lots of aliens...in fact, there's far too many. Their job is far more simplistic and while it is anything but easy, they never run out of things to find and kill. They can just walk along in a straight line for a few minutes and bump into some great alien empire poised to destroy the Imperium. These guys are far too 'nice' to me...or at least seem it. Fighting aliens? That's the most popular sci-fi concept ever. It's the most natural thing of all humanity even now- picking on people that are different. In a way...they're almost boring.

For me, it's the Witch Hunters anytime...just purely because even other Inquisitors are scared of them. Sure, you can crush an alien invasion with one well-timed attack...or you can beat a Bloodthirster's smug face in with a hammer...but if a Witch Hunter thinks your haircut is a bit too suspicious, then that's your arse.
