I have finally realized that people today are idiots. Today in Spanish we were talking about the moon, and the teacher asked, "Why would my weight be less on the moon?" I overhear one kid saying "No gravity!" :sadnshocked: Sorry buddy, but if there was no gravity, then there would be no weight instead of less weight. Of course there would be mass - oh wait, according to my old geometry teacher, mass and weight are exactly the same. So I guess in space you don't have mass :P

Also on the subject of space, we were talking about Mars, and how there is no oxygen. "Yes there is," one girl replied. :sadnshocked:

Oh well, so much for learning stuff in ninth grade.

That's nothing. I've met people who think that the ship-to-ship battles in star wars are extremely realistic.

In a way, they are. Rather than battleship on battleship, it's aircraft carrier on aircraft carrier. If there was no sound, they'd be more realistic, but otherwise, that's about it I guess...

And technically, almost 75% of Mars' air is oxygen. Admittedly, it's as part of Carbon Dioxide and as trace elements, but hey. She might have simply been showing off, or she's as dumb as a board.

Actually, she's right. There is some but it's a very thin atmosphere. You couldn't breath it and the mix is wrong for human life but there is air there.

In regards to the last one, we don't actually have a way of definately proving them wrong.

My favourite was on a British quiz show: Question "what is the third planet from the sun" given answer "the moon".
