Default My local store...

My local store just closed.

The store that got me started in hobby gaming years ago. The store with all my hobby gaming friends. Just gone.

There's not one within an hours drive of me. ...What do I do? :'(

Sorry to hear that.

If you've still got those friends though, you guys can get together in a basement or something... maybe you can even buy some of the store's boards.
Although I know it won't be the same, losing this store doesn't mean you have to quit 40k.

Like Colonel_Sanders said, try to get a private club going. You can buy stuff off the internet (try ebay) and not have to worry about annoying people walking in (unless you count mom :P).

Man that sucks, something like that happened to me a while ago. A store called "Gamescape" in my town closed down, which had Warhammer 40k minis. Now, probably the closest store is in San Antonio (like a 10 minute drive) but it's so out of date that it doesn't even have tau models.
So usually I go to "Gator Games" which is about like 30 minutes away in San Mateo. Or, if my parents are willing, they can drive me to the GW store in San Fran, which is like a 1 hour + traffic.
Like Colonel Sanders said, you can always play with those friends, or better yet, join or create a Game club. If you're in school (and you're not afraid of pple knowing you play 40k) you can setup a club.
