Default GW's fluff sources.

Oh, this is it alright... We're going to name places in real-life history, etc. where GW got their fluff for each and every single army and etc.. Enjoy. (Can't just state it, so here's an opinion...)

- Dark Angels - Primarch: Lion'el Johnson -

Named after a real-life poet named Lionel Johnson whose best, apparent, work was a poem about homosexuals. (On a sidenote; have you ever noticed how people say Dark Angels weaer dresses? Coincidence? I think not.)

Onward!

-Jason.

I remember some blue, antennaed race in Star Trek, "The Imperial Guard".

But I'm no Trekkie.

The Eldar have two Craftworld named after pagan festival names...although with GW mispelling them on purpose.

Biel-tan = Beltane - Ancient Celtic Fire festival
Saim Han - Samhain - Ancient Celtic Harvest Festival, Halloween has sone roots in this festival.

Probably more but I'm in the middle of painting right now..

Abaddon is the name of an actual demon, which to be honest, is more than just a little creapy. Nurgle is a mispelling of a mesopotamian God of rot and fields. There is a whole slew more. Jsut wait till some of the other older members get on and you'll probably get the lot.
