This is a list I've been working on for a tournament at the end of next month. From what I know of the other players, it will be mostly Space Marines, with an Orc, a Necron, a Tyranid and another Eldar player.
HQ: Doomseer Troops: 6 Pathfinders 6 Jetbikes with 2 Shuriken Cannons 10 Dire Avengers, Exarch with dual Shuricats and Bladestorm Wave Serpent (for the DAs) with TL Bright Lance and Spirit Stones Heavy Support: 3 War Walkers with dual Scatter Lasers Elites: 5 Harlequins with 4 kisses and a Shadowseer All told, this comes to 985 points. With the extra 15 points I was thinking of either giving the Avengers Defend, or giving the Serpent Star Engines. I was also thinking of possibly downgrading the Pathfinders to Rangers and then adding another 2 of them with the extra points. Giving the Shadowseer a Kiss would be nice, but that would require some converting to the model, and it's all painted up already.

I find it funny that despite having a ton of Marine players, that your list seems tailored tward hoards. Jetbikes will pwn hoards, and run rings around them, splitting them up. Dire Averngers will enjoy dropping out, bladestorming, and leaveing with the Wave Serpent. War Walkers with Scatter Lasers obliterate hoards. But are you relying on the number of shots to destroy your foe? It doesn't work in my experiance. My Necron friend rapid fired a single marine with 24 warriors, and he saved every one. I would suggest that you drop the Pathfinders for a unit of Dark Reapers. The firepower of just three will get about 3 kills per round of shooting. Plant them in cover and have the Harliquins sit nearby to charge anyone who gets to close. Just my 2 cents.
And on a side note, I like that you mounted the Bright Lances on the Wave Serpent, as it is more durable then most people think.

I think your list seems very solid. I have for some time played a similar list, and it owns both hordes and marines alike. There is nothing wrong with relying on volume of shots to take down your marine adversary. Just roll your dies and let statistics take down you opponent.

Starcannons would be worthwhile too, but I think the extra shots make up for the difference. The Pathfinders are there mostly for fluff reasons, but they also make for a decent distraction and objective holding unit. That and I've had really good luck with them taking down Rhino's on the first turn, which is always hilarious.

A few comments all though - as I said, it looks good.
1. I would switch out the Brightlance for a Shuriken Cannon. The Brightlance is very expensive, and at 1000 points, I would not expect to run into very many Land Raiders, and the cannon is such a great gun against medium armour/infantry allike 2. I've had great success in using my Pathfinder to scare off enemy MC's. Making them walk in huge arcs around my Pathfinders right into the arms of my Harlies ![]() 3. I'd switch on of the Warwalker Scatterlasers for a Shuriken Cannon. That way you can use their scoutmove to get some nice penetrating hits at some rear-armour. Now, you have 55 points more, to spend on some nice units/upgrades |

I'd like something with a bit more punch to take out the few armored units I do see. I've run with Scannons before, and I liked it, but it seemed to lack any real umph. 2. I'd switch on of the Warwalker Scatterlasers for a Shuriken Cannon. That way you can use their scoutmove to get some nice penetrating hits at some rear-armour. Why would changing the Scatter Lasers for a Scannon be needed for that? The Scatter Laser is just as strong and has the extra shot. Thanks for the input.

I would change the War Walkers to have dual EML. That way, even if the WaveSerpent goes down, you can have anti tank. Also, they are great for killing Landraiders due to their ability to flank behind them. An added bonus is that they are great versus all the armies mentioned (plasma shot can down marines/nidzilla/Eldar vehicles/necrons (bypassing their "We'll be back", krak can kill horde armies). Lastly, as to what you should do with the last 15 points, I recommend upgrading one of the Harelequins to a Troupe Master (you can take off the points for the kiss, as he gets a power weapon [which I recommend taking instead, as it is better versus MEQs] for free). Over all, it look like a good list. Good luck in your tournament.

Just to clear up a few things guys,
1.) Scatter Laser is AP6, it doesn't suffer any penalty on armor penetration. 2.) Krak shots from EML are only S8, and so can only glance a landraider on a 6. If you meant a leman russ, then glancing on 2's they'd be pretty solid for that. On the other hand a scatter laser for cheaper throws out more shots that glance AV10 on a 4 instead of a 2. It's really just a question of whether you want to sink that many points on your walkers what suits you better but both are versatile in terms anti-armor vs. anti-infantry.
