I played a variation of this list in a game on Saturday, and found it basically effective. The only difference between that list and this is that I'm dropping a squad of swooping hawks and warp spiders and replacing them with wraithguard and a wraithlord. I found that I'm having a hard time controlling that much movement and still utilizing cover effectively. So, in an attempt to remain effective and still be a threat, I'm dropping a few fast units for some slow and insanely tough ones.
Also, I love my wraithguard and wraithlord models, and it just doesn't take too much arm twisting to convince me to include them. HQ Autarch - 130 Bike, Mandiblasters, Lance Farseer - 128 Bike, Doom, Singing Spear, Runes of Warding Elites 5 x Wraithguard - 221 Warlock, Conceal, Spirit Seer Troops 10 x Dire Avengers - 297 Exarch, dual shuricats, bladestorm Wave Serpent, T.L. Brightlance, Spirit Stones 10 x Dire Avengers - 292 Exarch, power weapon / shimmer shield, defend Wave Serpent, T.L. EML, Spirit Stones Fast Attack 5 x Shining Spears - 227 Exarch, Star Lance, Withdraw Heavy Fire Prism - 160 Holofields, Spirit Stone Fire Prism - 160 Holofields, Spirit Stone Wraithlord - 135 EML, Scatter Laser The basic concept of the list will be several very fast hard hitting units surrounding a core of foot slogging area controlling / pressure applying troops. I don't expect the wraithguard to do much more than keep everyone more that 12" away. That may be enough to maximize the movement of the rest of the list. Any thoughts? Also, must have units... the spears and autarch, because ... well, because. And the farseer on a bike, because I'm putting too much work into the conversion to not use it. ;D |

Seems really good.
Personally I would include more aspect warriors but what you have is effective. Only thing I would change is give the Farseer mind war. Its amazing how useful it becomes. 2 Farseers with mind war once won me a game against Chaos. Do you know which force you will be facing? That would be useful. Hope it helps. arandomshadow |

Only 2 troop choices and yet you take 3 heavy and 2 HQ..well for composition you would get a poor score from me
I dont like the eml or bright lance on the wave serpents you are + their cost and they are not a scoring unit. Also if you are shaken you cant shoot so its a lot of points tied up into something a little on the weak side in durability I would rather see you put the EML on Wraithlord which is already carrying the BL and use it for anti tank and put a twin link scatter on the wave serpents |

I actually like the Wave serpents, they have even better accuracy than the Wraithlord, and can target two different tanks. They also are not more costly than on the WL.
Though I do agree, I don't like how few troops you have, maybe drop the wraith gaurd, in favor of something faster in the troops section.

Some additional playtesting has proven the wraithguard fairly ineffective in this list.
I'm also noticing that the fire prisms are just too easy to shake. They stay alive forever, but a non shooting prism is pretty worthless. The tournament I'm going to doesn't have army comp scores, so I'm not too worried about that. Here's revision #3. I'll do some more playtesting with it. I needed to add some anti-horde because I just didn't have an answer to a horde army when the fire prisms were shaken. To summarize the changes in the list, I dropped a few upgrades here and there, added a squad of warlocks for anti-horde and wraithsight, dropped the wraithguard and added in banshees in a wave serpent, dropped the fire prisms, and added a second wraithlord. I do have a question about fielding footslogging warlocks with a farseer mounted on a bike. It doesn't seem like that is illegal - it seems like they are just a separate unit. Can anyone confirm? Also, I'm open to more suggestions to the list - I've got a ton of points tied up in wave serpents. HQ Autarch - 130 Bike, Mandiblasters, Lance Farseer - 113 Bike, Doom, Singing Spear 4 Warlocks - 145 **** Added for anti-horde and for wraithsight 3 x Destructor, 1 Enhance Elites 10 Howling Banshees - 322 Exarch, Executioner Wave Serpent, T.L. EML, Spirit Stones, Shuriken Cannon Troops 10 x Dire Avengers - 277 Exarch, dual shuricats Wave Serpent, T.L. EML, Spirit Stones, Shuriken Cannon 10 x Dire Avengers - 302 Exarch, power weapon / shimmer shield, defend Wave Serpent, T.L. EML, Spirit Stones, Shuriken Cannon Fast Attack 5 x Shining Spears - 227 Exarch, Star Lance, Withdraw Heavy Wraithlord - 115 EML Wraithlord - 115 EML Total points 1746 |

Well, the warlocks are a separate unit, so that's all good, but I think that your old list was actually better. I don't like the lack of tank I see here. Aside from your farseer you really lack weapons that can effectively hurt high AVs. (I know that you have the two EMLs, but you'll need to roll 6's for them to hurt AV 14, and at 1750 pts, I'd expect at least some.)
Your wraithlords are also cut+paste. I don't ever like that, but I think that having the two could work, but I would switch up the weapons around a bit. Also instead of using Howling banshees, I suggest that you try using Scorpions, and save some points on the Wave serpent by infiltrating them. And you're warlocks are gonna have a rough time getting to where they need to be, so maybe drop the Wave serpent for bikes for them.

Ok, Revision #4...
This time, I changed out the banshees for scorpions, dropping the wave serpent. I beefed up the wraithlords a bit, and added some vibrocannons... Alternatively, I can add a 6 man squad of swooping hawks with intercept - that would allow me to assault those heavy vehicles, but I think the vibrocannons will be a bit more durable. The Warlocks are going to be footslogging with the wraithlords. I mainly added them for wraithsight, but the destructors should help out if someone tries to tie up the wraithlords with a swarm. HQ Autarch - 130 Bike, Mandiblasters, Lance Farseer - 113 Bike, Doom, Singing Spear 3 Warlocks - 105 3 x Destructor Elites 10 Striking Scorpions - 202 Exarch, Chainsabres, Stalker, Shadow Strike Troops 10 x Dire Avengers - 267 Exarch, dual shuricats Wave Serpent, T.L. EML, Spirit Stones 10 x Dire Avengers - 292 Exarch, power weapon / shimmer shield, defend Wave Serpent, T.L. EML, Spirit Stones Fast Attack 4 x Shining Spears - 192 Exarch, Star Lance, Withdraw Heavy Wraithlord - 135 EML, Scatter Laser Wraithlord - 155 EML, Brightlance Support Weapon Battery - 150 3 x Vibrocannons |
