Default Dark Eldar's best Elites

Tell me what your Favorite is and why....

I will start, my favorite is the wyches! Put them in a Raider, give them plasma grenades and wyche weapons and you have a fearsome hth unit with three attacks on the charge maybe 4 with the right roll of drugs.

Wyches are great! They have the ability to take anit-tank weaponry as well as being really hard to kill in combat. It's possible for them to move a really long way, 12" raider, 3" disembark, 6" fleet, 6" assault (12" with the right drugs) and they get tonnes of cool toys!

Mandrakes are okay, they are slower than warrriors while hidden and are specialised for assault, which they aren't too good at.

Grotesques aren't as good under the new target selection rules, but they can be useful nevertheless, being very hard to kill at range and scary in combat.

I've never used Warp Beasts. Honest question, who has?

Ive picked the grotesques as i love the models and unlike most eldar they are really though which is a nice contrast to have when the majority of the units fragile.

This is what ive done with my ulthwe army, try to overcome the eldar's main weakness(fragility) with my army list and it seems to work pretty well.

I think warp beats are the most useless unit in the DE army as any army that can pick out the beast master or if it gets killed in combat will end up having some nasty warp beasts usually helping them out. They are a liability against imperial armies or eldar.

Wyches, hands down. Grotesques and Mandrakes have their uses, but Wyches are just plain great.

I don't think Grotesques and Mandrakes are all that bad, certainly worth more than 1/4 of a 'good' elite! Mandrakes are useful in any game, and they are great in Escalation games because they always start on the board, this can give an early advantage in numbers and allow objectives to be taken and held (+2 cover save is useful here). Grotesques can make good use of their 'Terrifying' ability if teamed up in an assault with units that have higher Initiative, and are more resilient than other DE units.
