Default Ulthwe Strike Force 1000pts!

Well, after months of tossing around idea Blah Blah Blah....

Well to cut a long story short I have chosen Ulthwe Strike Force, Cuz its cool!

Um, as I understand it, Black Guardians can only be used as your compulsory troop squads, as in you may only have two.

Please refer to page 23 of the Craftworld Eldar Codex.

I do not have the Eye of Terror book so if this is why you may field three Black Gaurdian squads please enlighten me.

it certainly is.

an ulthwe strike force is comprised of all black guardians (this means your vyper and war walkers have a bs of 4) i believe most of your force will start in reserve, entering through webway portals. the main downside to the strike force is the lack of versatility, many units are not allowed, such as falcons, wave serpents (anything which would have a hard time navigating the webway basically)

with regards to the list:

make sure the war walkers weapons are the same. so, take one with two starcannons and one with two bright lances, this ensures that they're more likely to take out their target (have the starcannon one target units and the bright lance one target armour)

you have a huge amount of points left over. i suggest putting a couple of fall guys into your seer council: warlock/cc weapon/shuri pistol/augment. or, you could bolster your guardian squads a little.

This is a must. IIRC you don't actually have to give a Warlock a Psychic power like you do with Farseers.

Once again, I agree.


A big thing with the Strike-Force is having something that will pack a serious punch when it comes out of the gate.

All those Black Guardians with Shiri. Cats although good, really aren't on the same level as some hard hitting units.

Maybe to make them pack more of a punch add a Warlock with a Witchblade and Destructer.

Also, make sure you split the WW and Vypers into 1 vehicle squads.

For what will start on the board and in the gate (of which I can't actually see one, stick it in the council).

Start on Table:

Council

Vyper

Vyper

1 Warwalker

This is because you wan't units on the board to start that can survive. The Vypers are hard to take down (give them spirit stones too), the council is probably the toughest unit in the game (especially if you add some of those extra bodies). The Warwalker is there to give you some much needed ranged support as your council advances.

In Webway:

Guardians (x3)

1 Warwalker

The Guardians are in the Webway because they are very fragile especially without conceal, this was they will always get to unload at the enemy with their full number of shots. The Warwalker is there because it is fragile, most Warwalkers get taken down by enemy shooting before they can do much. This way it will definatley get at least one turn of shooting and at a push can charge into a squad in the assault phase to finish them off.

Heres the list and tactics I hope will work:

On the field:
Seer Council, 3 Vypers

In the Wraithgate
3 Guardian Squads

I plan to anhilliate (sp?) any enemy armour in the first two turns or so with my vypers while my council hugs the terrain and fleet of foots it to a nice juicy positin and deploys the wraith gate, then the tide of black wraithbone armour will emerge and mop up the rest while my council charges into a weakened unit!

By the Way, Should I weaken the seer council (now witchblades, just CCW's) to get more men on the table?

OR:

should I use this list, along the same line of the tactics of the other one?
