Default Some Alaitoc-Combat Patrol and KTeam

Hail, Shas'o Tau Dev'n Kauyon here looking to expand on my armies. I love stealthy characters in general, and Rangers (Of all kinds, not just 40k) have always appealed to me. This I have decided to have,at the very least, the following:

Combat Patrol
The Dawn Shadows

Eldar-Craftworld Alaitoc
Total-398

Troops - 228 (4 X 57)
3 Rangers
Ranger Long Rifle
Shuriken Pistol

Elite - 170
6 Striking Scorpions
1 Striking Scorpion Exarch (w/Stealth)
Shuriken Pistol
Mandiblaster
Chainsword(Biting Blade on Exarch)
Plasma & Haywire Grenades

Alaitoc MUST have 2 troops and 2 ranger squads, thus I went for 4 squads of Rangers. Honestly, I was hooked on Alaitoc before I even knew about the disruption table. I don't see how anyone can call cheese on 4 3 Eldar Ranger squads as this is practically mandatory, if you use Rangers as troops anyway.

Kill Team
The Twilight Spectres

Eldar-Craftworld Alaitoc
Total-144

6 Path-finders
Ranger Long Rifle
Shuriken Pistol

Yeah, this gives the Brute's 50 extra points and 5 extra brute squads...but I'm auto-killing on a roll of 4+ ! Not to mention their already sweet special rules. I love these guys! XD

I await your reports,

O'Dev'n

I like!
I've always been a fan of Rangers (I have about 12 in my Ulthwe force). Pathfinders are excellent as well, and I included them in my Kill team too.
The infltrating Striking Scorpions fit in well with the Stealth theme, and add a nice combat element to the patrol.

I noticed that no-one had replied, and I though it was a bit harsh! I think it's because there isn't much to say about the lists, beause they're so small. However I do like them as I said.
Got much fluff for 'em? >_<

I could make some, you want me to make some?

The problem with Kill Teams, to me, is that they want customization but still require you to work within the rules. Not to mention the game as a whole is regulated for squads to all have similer abilities.

I would love to have two brothers, both crack shots but with one preferring the subtle sniper rifle while the other enjoys his Missile launcher. A duel pistol weilding show-off and his friend the Shotgun toter. A pyromaniac who writes poetry, and the leader who keeps them all together. Sadly this doesn't really work out to well.

The Pathfinders are my own twisted flavor of powergaming after giving up on a KTeam of "unqiues." Now, I can easily make them out to be an elite unit, after all, Pathfinders really are fluff apropriate, but as they are (Points to the list) they really aren't too different.

The combat patrol is much the same. Fluff appropriate, but not really "special." I can write some fluff, but it wouldn't reflect the lists above very much.

Still, I could...

I know what you mean, it can feel a little restrictive. However even 'boring' elite units are full of individuals!
I'm not sure how much you enjoy writing fluff, but if you want to write some it would be cool if you could post it here.

*blinks*

*Points to the 40KCreation board*

http://forums.tauonline.org/index.php?topic=9727.0

It's not much, and it's not "fluff" really, but I wrote it on the spur of the moment in less than 2 straght hours. *Shrugs*

That's how I write everything, it's horrible really. My English Professors are always nagging me about it.

:-\ I do good work most of the time though, this does need some more though.

Nope, I was just on holiday! I play Alaitoc.

Both your army lists look good to me. I really like the fact that you have scorpions - they go together with rangers really well.

The fluff/writing's good. Keep it up!
