I think that all people who consider Wraithlords cheesy should read this. :P

I have the WD which had that in right next to me * (I much preffered WD back in the day, Don't like it as much anymore. Still get it every month though).

Still, I think any player in the game for any army, if they had a choice between a WL and a Dred and were looking for effectiveness would go for a WL.

I've used Dred heavy armies now and again, they usually suck *: (Although my Dreds kicked some gargantuan metal ass against Crons last time they marched to war).

Still WL aren't beardy. But when used badly (I.E lots in little games), then they do make players grow facial hair like a Dwarf Longbeard.

Frankly, that isn't going to convince anyone. If they believe Wraithlords are not cheesy, then it's preaching to the choir. If the do believe Wraithlords are cheesy, they are either dogmatically committed to their belief and nobody can convince them otherwise, or they've seen this argument many times and have their own reasons why it is false. I happen to fall into the latter camp, but I don't really feel like arguing the point, partly because the point may become moot with the new codexes soon anyhow.

Yes, we all know Heavy Bolters and so forth can hurt Wraithlords... however, any weapon Str 6 or less is generally wasted shots.

Also, a Wraithlord can suffer two wounds and keep going. If a Dread suffers a single "wound" it is lost.

Finally, Dreadnoughts are a moderately tough unit in a tough army. Wraithlords are a bloody-solid character in a "fragile" army. It's not just the Wraithlord, it's the company it keeps that makes it beardy.

I just wanted to know what sort of a response it'd get. I'm storing all the results away in my head.

Although the results I got were actually quite well predicted!

So you weren't sure how well you knew us, so you posted this link?

No no no, this wasn't some sort of twisted experiment. ;D (Ok I admit, it was a bit).

I just found the link interesting, and wondered who agreed and who didn't.
Turns out most people aren't shifting from their original stances much! Oh well...

Articles don't convince many people, for a few main reasons.

1. People who read them tend to be people who agree with them already.
2. Those who don't agree with them already have probably seen all the arguments before.
3. Unlike a person, an article can't argue back with the reader.

Although there are some people who would do well to read the section immediately following the Wraithlord part.

P.S. I must admit that I'm becoming more tempted by the moment to write a point-by-point rebuttal to the article... must... resist...

No need THC (unless you feel inclined to do so of course, feel free ), because I know the arguments for both sides. Personally, I've never had problems using or fighting them, but my experience if limited, and I'm aware that problems can arise with them. 8)
