Default Working on Biel-Tan 1500

HQ-
avatar + 5 howling banshee exarchs- cort of the young king

troops -
10 fire dragons with exarch+firepike mounted in a wave serpent with brightlance
10 fire dragons with exarch+firepike mounted in a wave serpent with brightlance

Heavy Support-
Support wepon battery with D cannon

This list is by no means done ..... theres so many ways i can go from here

The basic idea is to get some victory points with the Crystal targeting matrix equiped wave serpents. witch will make my space marine playing brother have to move into d cannon range.. and hopefully all those fire dragons and the d-cannons will weaken his charge and the cort of the young king kill the rest

theres more room in the army about 350 ish points ... i was thinking either making room for a farseer and a war walker squadren... or maybe some tanks or vipers ... or maybe another d cannon ..... or maybe the howling banshee pheonix lord to join the cort of the young king.... any advice would be greatly appreciated

I'd get rid of the single D cannon. On it's own IMO it's a waste.

Don't get more tanks (as in falcons or fire prisms or wave serpents) - you've got the two wave serpents already. Dark Reapers for long ranged EMS and Reaper launcher fire support would be good, or a squad of vypers nicely tooled out with long ranged anti infantry weaponry. However that would make your army vulnerable against armies such as Tau who excel at killing vehicles.

I wouldn't get the phoenix lord yet.

I am gonna be playing space marines ....i was gonna make my troops choices reapers .... but the reason i decided aginst it is... they cant move and shoot .... and bolter shots take em out fast if left out in the open....

I think i am gonna go with 2 D-Cannon batterys to make sure they weaken his attack.

D-cannons are really effective aginst space marines as long as the marine player dosent take whirlwinds... then the marines just have to stand out side of d cannon range and wait for the whirlwinds to take em out.

So i will need some highly mobile anti tank units... to jet boost over to them and kill em the next round.... The fire dragons mounted in the wave serpents fill that role .... but they also are good at taking out marines. >>

My personal problem with this list is that it's an anti-SMurf specialist army that's also a little un-Eldar like.
You use your transports like tanks until they get close and you D-cannon them a little, then shoot them up at 12" or so. This army has such little model count and output that any army that uses a large number of models can take you out. Heck, a SMurf army can do that if they take a lot of Scouts instead of the bigger things. Infiltrate, rush, a few tanks to bulldoze you while most of your army is stuck either hiding, or in assault.
I don't know. I don't like specialists armies like this. I'd rather generalise by putting in a bunch of Guardians with Warlocks with Conceal or something. Makes for a better anti-horde army then, without losing much in the anti-power armour.

I still really wouldn't take D Cannons against SMurfs. A good SMurf commander will use deep striking stuff to kill them and D cannons are short ranged compared to other heavy weapons....

A wraithlord armed with a starcannon could be good though, especially against the dreaded terminators...

Furthermore one of those wave serpents could be kitted out with a star cannon to deal with Space Marines (its the weapon they loathe the most!). Seeing as you won't be coming accross many tanks in 1000pts, you will have one twin linked bright lance - and of course 20 fire dragons to tank hunt then I don't think it will hurt you!
