Default A few questions about the Fall

I take it you all know the story of the Fall, Slaanesh is born, psychic shockwave, mass death, etc, etc.
Did the psychic shockwave erupt from the Eye of Terror? If yes, would the shockwave have travelled at the speed of light? Slower?
Either way, it would've taken millennia for it to cross the galaxy and kill the Eldar (, Orks and Humans). Or does the psychic wave travel in a different way?

Thanks, sorry if this is confusing :P

Was it not the fall that brought the Eye Of terror into this universe? I don't know, I'm pretty sure it was.

The eye of terror is ground zero for the fall. It is a scar left from that event and the shock wave flew in all directions killing many many Eldar. Some who were ready (as they could be) That had constructed craftworlds escaped.

The shock wave did not consume the entire galaxy so there were lots of Eldar survivors, such as the exodites on the crone worlds. I'd imagine it dissipated after a certain distance.

Both Faster and Slower then the speeed of light.

My understanding is that this Psychic Shockwave travels through the Immaterium, thus is not subject to the law of Physics.

@Dark Father's left hand: Would you say that it struck simultaneously?
If it travelled normally, then the Eldar nearer the edge of the galaxy would've had a long time to escape, but then, how would they know that it was coming?

It's more of how Physics works in the Immaterium. Some patches are faster the Light speed, some patches slower. So the progression of the Psychic wave varies is speed and distance and is as Chaotic as the stuff it is travelling through.

So in some part it crossed the Galaxy in a blink of an eye in other in crawls a sublight speed and most part is alternate between the two.

Does that make any sense?

Since the fall was psychic in nature i'd feel many didn't simply die. They probably went insane and killed each other and themselves.

The Exodites left the eldar "empire" before anyone else. It's not known if they foresaw the fall or if there was more to it. It could be they just wanted the simple life. Those that went into craft worlds were later and saw the decadence around them and sought to do the same as the exodites. When the craftworlds left some of them settled worlds to become exodites as well (I just read this in the codex). Others stayed on the craftworlds. Some craftworlds were also destroyed by the psychic shockwave. Some fell to natural disasters or destroyed by xenos.
