ive been looking at the support weapon team set on the GW site, and at the bottom it says it contains "an eldar support weapon tem". what exactly does it mean by team? is it one weapon or is it a whole unit of 3 weapons?

i guess it would depend on the enemy. against my tyranid friend i would use shadow weavers, and against marines or crons i would use d-cannons.

Don't go past Vibrocannons....
They do prety well against Nids, they have the ability to do many wounds against both MCS and horde, plus they effect multiple units. A tactic I came up with which I call the "Vibro Trap" is where you use a really tough unit (Wraithguard/lord) to tie up a unit, whilst shooting with the vibrocannon. Whilst yes it can hurt the model you have fighting in the assault, his toughness and save should keep hima round... |

Yep. They can affect any unit in their path.... Including units in assault or units that require special rules to shoot them (Harlequins and Grey Knights)

It's that "draw a line" thing. You aren't targetting a squad, you are just drawing a line. If that line just coincidentally crosses some Stealth Suits or something hey thats just part of the game. I think a vibrocannon is the best looking one of the weapon options but I don't know from experience.
