Default Crystal targeting matrix question

can you have a fire prism tank equiped with Crystal Targeting Matrix behind some terrain..... fly up 6 inches .... shoot ... and go down 6 inches.... and if so does that count toward making all hits for the next round into glancing hits?

Thanks

No, not up. But you can move out from behind the cover if there is room, and do practically the same thing.
And it does not count for glancing hits no, because you have to be over 6" (or is it 12"?) from where you started to count as moving fast.

You didn't used to be able to....But I have a feeling that the new codex has skimmers ignoring terrain in between them and the target, although if you do that you can't move and therefore cannot get glancing hit bonuses. Although I MAY just be reading the rulebook wrong.

Skimmers can't ignore terrain between them and their target. They ignore terrain when moving and count as being above any terrain peice they are "in" which means they can't get hull down.

it's handy if you use a forest with this one. you dont "pop up" you just move onto the forest and claim that you are hovering above it. this instantly gives you line of sight to every model on the table (practically) and then you just move backwards again after shooting.
