I'm a little curious, Codex:Eldar states the weapon is a two handed close combat weapon but if taken does not replace the exarch's shuriken pistol.

Does an exarch who takes a biting blade still get the bonus attack for having two close combat weapons? I didn't find anything in the BRB that would say otherwise.

You get a +1 attack bonus for two one-handed close combat weapons (pg. 42). An exarch with a biting blade therefore does not get the bonus, as he has a two-handed close combat weapon and a pistol.

since were talking about the biting blade i might as well ask this: can you use the biting blade and the claw? from my perspective it looks like the codex will allow you to get both

As far as I can tell you may use both weapons if you wanted to, but in all honesty I think that would be a pretty bad waste of points.

You could only use one at a time.

The Rulebook states that you can only gain the benefits of one of two special weapons even if you have both. That's the penalty for using too many complex weapons. Besides, the Biting Blade is two handed and the Scorpion's Claw takes up a hand.

yes, it's either one or the other, that's why its a bit of a pointsink.

Especially sense the Scorpion's Claw is stronger(well, more reliable) and a power weapon. It also makes you hit at Initiative 1.

The Biting Blade is 2-handed so you only get 4 attacks on the charge, but you strike at full Initiative.

I actually kind of like Chainsabres. Cheap, essentially give your Exarch Preferred Enemy and Lightning Claws (re-roll hit & wound), and unless you're fighting heavily armored foes (which you shouldn't really with Scorps) they'll do pretty well.
