Default Defeating Heavy-hitters of Heavy Support

In big games as the points get over 1500+, a few League armies at my store have the following in their 2,000 point list.

2 Grey Knight Players field - 3 Land Raiders

Chaos Marine - 2 Squads of 3 Obliterators

Would seem like you would need to field several Lances and Starcannons.

I actually really like Eldar at high point games. Because each unit is so specialized, large points pools allow us to really hone in our strategies. Taking Bright Lances would actually fix both of those problems. A Bright Lance will insta-gib an Oblit and can take down a Land Raider. However, you'll need several to make it work. Their low ROF means that you reall need 3-5 to bring down enemy units quickly enough to get the initiative in the game. Otherwise, you'll spend 2-3 turns trying to avoid the phalanx of Oblits or the Land Raider column rather than capturing objectives and winning the game.

Units that Will Make All The Difference:

Dragon Wagon! (Fire dragons in a wave serpent)
Fire Prism
Spam on brightlances, also use units like wraithlords, avatars.

And remember, if your fire prism loses its weapon, you can always ram....

I don't think so. If those Land Raiders are stuffed with Grey Knights (as they most likely are), the Hawks will get slaughtered (Stormbolters and Nemesis Weapons is a nasty combo).

Keep in mind that any one unit packed with specialized weaponry might as well have a neon sign reading: "THREAT OMG SHOOT THIS" nailed to their bases. Spread things out and make sure that one flank or one lucky assault will not knock out your capabilities. Otherwise, a good player will still be able to take you apart easily.

And, as mentioned before, keep in mind what will happen afterwards. Have some firepower units or CC units ready when the land raiders go poof, make sure that you are ready when a central unit in your enemies army goes down, forcing them to change strategy.

Thats a good point WSS, ramming is a good way to kill something when you have no weapons (thats one of the best 5th Edition rules.).
A prism moving full speed (36 inches in one turn) can cause serious damage to even a titan.
Correct me if im wrong, but you get +1 strength for every 3" you move and +1 for being a tank, so thats strength 13.... nuff said.

Weill first of all there is a lot of dispute whether or not star engines count towards a ram, and its pretty much agreed on that it can't get above strength 10. I'd only ever ram if the prism cannon was gone, but even then a weaponless fireprism is handy. Park it in front of a dakka predator, they have to move, there is less shots at your more vulnerable units. The fireprism could flank around the back of your enemy, and when they go to fall back from loosing a combat they get destroyed....

Whilst the fireprism is a gun tank...it does have some uses when unable to use it...

Nice, I never thought of some of those ideas. I might use when I get a Prism.

Cornering units is a great way to kill them off - I did't realise that you could corner with skimmers, I presumed that they would just walk under them.
Back to ramming, I've seen a Warhound Titan taken down by 3 Ork Trukks, you should have seen the look it's owners face...

I actually doubt greatly the titan could be destroyed that way... What about structure points? It would have to have been exceptional dice rolling...
