Default Ulthwe - 1000pts

I got my Daemonhunter underway and I don't think I'll continue it past that.* Now I'll try my hand at Eldar in some cool looking black armor.* Boo Yah.* This is the list from the GW site, I kinda liked it and I'd like to tweak it a little.* Don't know exact point costs of exact models but have good overall point coverage.

i'd be tempted to drop the singing spear from the augment warlock, just giving him a cc/sp. i'd then use the extra points to throw another warlock into the council with augment/cc/sp. reason being that the augment warlock is the cheapest but also the most vunerable due to the warp. i've come to the conclusion that it's a good idea to have 2/3 cheap augment warlocks in your council as fall guys ^^.

i'd also drop guide for mind war. saves you some points and potentially gives you a 36" sniper. all it takes is for your opponent to roll low, you high and even the toughest commander's head will go "pop" ^^;

troops

call me beardy, but i like starcannons.. not so much for the ap but for the reliable shot count. what i like more are starcannons with bs4. i'd be tempted to make both black squads defenders, give them a conceal warlock with cc/sp and one a bright lance the other a starcannon. i'd also drop their numbers to 10/10 or 12/12.

i'm convinced that storm guardians are most effective when using flamers before charging opponents. i think the storm guardians can only take a max of 2 flamers/fusions guns per squad too.. so the list on the gw site is a little off ^^; i'd be tempted to try and make storm squads as small as possible to maximise flamer capacity (as well as increasing the amount of targets). the tactic here being to move the multiple squads forward as a single unit.

elites

you have none ^^;

fast attack

vipers look like fun. i'd be tempted to drop one of them to free some points to tool up the falcon a little, i'd also look towards giving this one a starcannon too.

heavy

a scatter laser/shuriken cannon and pulse laser can potentially dish out a lot of hurt ^^ especially if you have a small squad of storm guardians in the back (w/flamers, warlock/destructor)

i'll work out some points a little later ^^; i'd reccomend a wraithlord too.. they really do pack a punch ^^

Well I would switch a few heavy weapons around, I find that vypers, rather than guardians, are better to hold specialised heavy weapons such as a bright lance because they have the speed to get to their target much quicker, sin is right you can't take 4 flamer/fusions on storm squads, as for the choice of flamer or fusions well that only really depends on your opponent, but as its a large squad, therefor untransported, therefor unfit for tank hunting and more useful for anti infantry, I would take the 2 flamers, and your BS of 3 won't matter w/ flamers.

I dropped a vyper and gave the falcon a holo-field, it all adds up to 998 points.* Looks good?

I was thinking of removing the last the Vyper completely and tool up the Falcon for mainly anti-tank. Put in the Seer Council in the Falcon. Or use a Fire Prism for just anti-tank stuff.

I have good news for you my friend. The points for that seer council are way out of wack. For the guys you have there I think it's only 175 points. NOT 250.

With these extra points that you have now gained I would drop the vyper and invest in a wraithlord armed with a brightlance (if you need anti-armour, or a starcannon for everything else).

The only other thing I would make changes too is your seer council. I fail to see it's purpose. It will be able to hold it's own in combat but it wont do much to kill the enemy.

Another thing, I've just found out that only the 2 compulsary troops choices are black, the rest are normal.
