Default Over exaggeration?

Its starting to seem to me that I have over exaggerated eldar's weaknesses as compared with other races, if your read a codex from say space marines or necrons, while reading the eldar one, its shocking to see just what those two races get for that amount of points, while eldar seem hideously over priced and weak, yet on the table eldar don't fare baddly, at all. In other words, eldar suck ass on paper, but in reality are really good. I'm almost afraid of the new codex, what if eldar become a good on paper race, and I lose my final stand: "Well I play eldar and they're actually hard to play." I then procide to show them some of their units and upgrades, usually shining spears, and my opponent will quickly admit he was facing an underbalanced race, if I lose I still have a moral victory. I think I've become as irrogant as an eladar, refusing to admit on my lacking of strategy, perhaps eldar are actually fine as they are.

No, eldar are hard to play. You're growing arrogant! ;D
Or irrigated...
And play against!
But... They do need to be redone, especially with new models and more/better psy powers. And cooler Wraithguard...

most of them are pretty overpriced. but that what makes them harder to play.

In that case, so is sex. Therefore, pornstars and prostitutes are professional athletes.

There are a couple of minor changes I'd make, but overall I'd agree with sin on this one.

They're good as they are in that they're not horribly cheesy like SMurfs and and Tau. However there are some things that do need changing like the points costs of jetbikes as Elflord said and a bit of shuriken weaponry tweaking (considering the new rapid fire rules....)

I think that GW went over the top when making Tau. They just made an army which is one of the easiest armies do win with - just sit back and shoot. Strength 5 is I think too much for the basic weaponry, especially since rapid fire just got more powerful and Tau have the ability to break all the rules when it comes to things such as the whole unit firing at one target etc...

What I liked about Eldar in third edition was that they had great weapons, but the great weaponry wa balanced out by the fact that they were short ranged. Now GW have introduced a race which has even better weaponry - and much better range which I think is one of the most difficult armies for Eldar to beat.

Then again they 'balanced' out the Tau by giving them horrible cc ability. Eldar do have the capabilities of turning Tau into nothing quickly. Fleet of foot allows them to get into cc faster and the Falcon is probably the best tank in the game. Just extremely cheese it to the point where it's near impossible to kill and hunt down fishes and hh's. Or just throw a bunch of Fire Dragons at em, either way.
