Which of them do you think are the better for taking out tanks and armoured units and why?

Fire drags, you get more shots for the price with the awesome addition of the exarch, and when you're within 6 inches it is much easier to score a penetrating on most all tanks, while the wraithguard always need a 4+ to hurt it. Against tough units like termies and the like fire drags again, again its more shots for the price and often you will have a much easier time wounding, t4 on a 2up, the wraithcannon only gets ahead on t8, or toughness 7, if any unit has it. And fire drags can fleet if you ever need em to. Both units have the same job just fire drags are a lot more versatile.

Interesting. I think that the wraithguard are better against more heavily armoured tanks (such as landraiders) as they will always have a 50% chance on rolling on the damage table while normal fusion guns won't effect that sort of tank (unless they get within half range and even then the chances are it won't be effective.) The Firepike is a great weapon against lightly armoured to medium tanks and is also a good character killer. The Fire dragons however also have melta bombs which allow them to blow up any tank but first you have to get close enough - and Fire Dragons aren't exactly the most heavily armoured creatures in the book whereas wraithguard are - but that is why wraithguard cost almost twice as much!
In short I agree that Fire Dragons are the most versatile as they can go infantry killing or they can kill more lightly armoured vehicles from distance and they can blow up anything if they get close enough, whereas wraithguard are just wild cards that can basically kill anything within 12 inches...

I'd say wraithguard. But that's only cause I'm an Iyanden Player... And possibly the only Iyanden Player on these forums... Lol

I agree with most of Tau Killers points.
Wraithguard are better for taking out the tougher tranks, but only if you can get them close enough. Use Wraithguard against vehicles that have light weapons (Multi-Lasers, Bolters, Scatter Lasers, Assault Cannons etc) as they can shrug off quite a lot of firepower (especially if they are accompanied by a Warlock with Conceal). Fire Dragons are better against anti-tank units (Lascannons, Autocannons etc) because there is a greater volume of them.
