Default How do you set up your army?

What I mean by that is where do you put your models in relation to each other? (usually.)

For example would you always deploy your guardians right at the front or farther behind? Do you like to put the avatar right at the front or behind a solid meat shield. Those are just example questions to get you thinking....

Big scary things at the front, fast fragile things behind, and extemely fast units out to the flanks where they can go either behind the enemy or move somewhere else.

So Typically I'll have the Wraithlord, Avatar and Seer council at the front, all very hard to kill and able to take a charge on the chin, my guardians not too far off (guide and all) my Vypers, jetbikes and aspect warriors in transports can go pretty much wherever they want. If you have infiltrators, they'll be in cover ahead of your force; if you're going to have rangers, back them up with some scorpions.

Lol, usually a bit like that. ;D
Don't try to look at that as a whole, just look at each unit individually.

Seer Coucil right in the centre of my battle-line.

A Black Guardian squad on each flank of the council.

Just in front of the centre of these two Black Guardian squads are a WL and an Avatar (one on each side), these big hitters can then protect the Guardian squads, take the fight to the enemy or join in on any big combat the Council gets involved in.

I then deploy my Reapers directly behind the council, where they will be safest.

With the stores army they let me use till I have my own it's somewhat like this...

_______________________________________Deployment line______________________________________________ __

[Wraithlord]
[Wraithguard] [Farseer] [Wraithguard]
[Wave Serpent] [Guardians] [Wave Serpent]

It's more of a defensive position that I can quickly change into an offense at any time. Depending on what army I play, mainly SM's (who doesn't?), I change it up. Most of the time, they get over-confident cause they think "oh he's new, he won't know what's coming" What they don't realize is that I've memorized their styles of play. I usually mount the WG's in the WS's and move them to one side and spearhead with the WL, SC, and Guardians. I've played three games with this formation and my record is 2-0-1

I usually deploy my guardian squads with weapon platforms in a position where they can overlook the battlefield.
I deploy my vypers in a flanking position or wherever they can hide (they use CTM to harass enemy units)
My wraithlords are deployed out front to progress up the field.
My dire avengers are either deployed in a wave serpant and transported up a flank or deployed towards the back lines to support against assult or deep strikers.
My falcon is then deployed in a supporting 'fire base' position.
My seer council is deployed either in the falcon or wave serpant and transported up a flank.
And Last but not least, my striking scorpians infiltrate.

In that case, so is sex. Therefore, pornstars and prostitutes are professional athletes.

I have various units I can use in battles but when I use them:

Rangers and pathfinders and Dark Reapers stay back behind cover at the back of the board and fire
Guardians, Dire Avengers and wraithguard make up the solid core of my army - usually with an Avatar in the wraithguard squad
2 wraithlords on either side flanking the main core
Scorpions infiltrating up the field
Vypers and jetbikes on the edges ready to zoom up and outflank
farseers slightly behind ready to give fortune and guide support to the squad that needs it
Fire Dragons in wave serpent which is deployed generally to the sides behind terrain (if possible.)
