I'm having an overwhelming urge to build yet another eldar army. I've built and sold off two and never played a single game with either. NOw with 5th, I've an idea of an all guardian and Davenger foot slogging force. CRAZY! :

Coolness. A+ for futility. :
Go with an Avatar, Dire Avengers, and Wraithlords...in a Falstead-style phalanx army. It could be fun. And if all fails, you could always sell it off again. ;D

My thoughts 2 squads of 20 Guardians followed by Locks with Conceal, and Fortuneseers.
Also some Venger squads and lots of Warwalkers. Just do the obvious push forward and maybe just maybe, instead of the Warwalkers go with Wraithlords they can be an opponents worst nighmare when paired with infantry squads. For solid Harassment go with Hawks, they pack AT punch and also light infantry killers, also being one of the most quickest and flexible units in the game. |

I'm thinking 3 20 man guardians with bright lance platforms and 3 10 man avenger squads with exarch and sword following close behind. Maybe some wraithlords, but definately warlocks abound.
Here is the rub. In 5th infantry with fleet of foot can potentially assault a unit 18" away. That means getting DA in a CC on second turn. With an I5 WS4, and 21 swings before MEQ (2 powerweapon swings) unit, I could actually shock some people. ![]() The real fact is that the only eldar model I like (love) is also my favorite model in 40k...the guardian. ;D |

Besides, I already have a 5th edition powergame army with 60 tac marines, 30 assault marines, 15 devistators, and 2 commanders: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b3...x/100_0356.jpg >

Definitely go with at least a couple wraithlords for your heavy support: they draw fire like nothing, and can fill out your anti-tank quite nicely. For mobility, you could always pick a different flavour and use storm guardians in a serpent
Needs moar flamerz! An Avatar is a must with all that infantry though - Fearless is priceless, and combined with the wraithlords that's 3 MCs your opponent has to worry about. In 5th he can run too, so he can keep up with the gribblies. |
