Default hi, and thankyou.

Heya,

My friends have recently managed to pique my intrest in Warhammer, and I've been trying to figure which race to begin. The info you guys have here helped me decide to start up with an Eldar Ulthwe force. ^-^

It's nice to locate a good solid base of information, so thanks for that.

Also expect a few newbie type questions from this quarter ^-^

Hi, it's always great to hear about new Eldar players.* Especially Ulthwe, the rarest of the craftworlds.* That'll especially please Restayvien (he's god around these parts and he also collects Ulthwe. (God, mod, same thing give or take a letter! :P)) Don't worry about asking newbie like questions.* That's what we're here for and after all the Eldar race nearly died out through not asking questions - for by asking questions we find answers.

By the way remember that you can introduce yourself on the introductions thread if you want a proper welcome.

Hah, a new farseer eh. Well welcome to the mighty army that is Eldar. Fell free to ask questions and don't forget to introduce yourself (In the introduction section, of course).

...

My train of thought ended, I can't write anymore in the theme I was writing in, whatever that was. Holy crap I'm confused myself.

Hey Sinfox!
Firstly, let me issue an Eldar-player only special welcome from the Eldar board. 8)
I'm really glad that you found the information we've compiled here helpful (sometimes I wonder if anyone actually reads it ), and don't worry about asking questions, I'm always ready and willing to answer any Eldar queries you might have!
See you around.
Regards,
-Restayvien

It is indeed! Especially Ulthwe (I collect Ulthwe you know ^-^).
Yep, I'm the Eldar mod Sinfox so expect to see plenty of inane and random interjections from me, and plenty of assorted edits! :P
"by asking questions we find answers."
Wise words. ;D

aww, thanks muchly for the warm welcome ^^

i've also managed to figure a first newbie question:

is it usual to use the ulthwe rules in the eye of terror book or craftworld eldar? i had a read of both, however there seems to be many more rules within the eye of terror. i think overall i'd prefere the list within the craftworld book.

Personally I prefer the rules in the craftworld book rather than the eye of terror - but it's entirely up to you. Since you also seem to prefer it go with that - always go with your instincts

The Codex:Craftworld Eldar book contains the actual army list for Ulthwe, and is the one I use.
Bear in mind that you will also need the standard Codex:Eldar as this contains the core Eldar rules, the other is just a supplement with the special Craftworld rules and characters in it.

The Eye of Terror codex contains a specialised 'Strike Force' Ulthwe list, which is an army composition designed for lightning raids. 8)
Feel free to use either, both are rewarding to play (although the Craftworld codex allows you a lot more freedom).
