Default To start an army.

Anways, due to the recent buying of paints, I now have no money to buy the Elda codex and battleforce, since I only have $140.
So I have come to this forum in hopes that one of the members would point me in the direction of starting an army. I was thinking of a Farseer, and a box of Guardians. And a Codex, of course.
Anyways I was just wondering what I should buy first.

I think the best place to start is the Codex a box of Defender Guardians and a Farseer yes.

Although if you are thinking about a specific craftworld then this will alter drastically.

I probably won't choose a Craftworld, but if I do it'll probably be the ranger one. And since I have money left to spare I was thinking of buying a box or rangers and a fast attack unit. And maybe and elite unit.

Well, you better choose a craftworld before you buy! Just go to GW and let them help you figure out what you need (If you want a reagular craftworld or not). But for a normal craftworld, yeah, a farseer and guradian defenders sound good. But be sure to buy the codex first!

I doubt I'll get a Craftworld.
Anyways, here's what I was thinking of buying:
Eldar Codex - CA $20
Eldar Farseer - CA $14
Eldar Warp Spiders - CA $14
Eldar Guardians Battle Squad - CA $40
Eldar Rangers - CA $14
Eldar Swooping Hawks - CA $12
-------------------------------------
Cost - CA $114
Taxes - CA $17.10
----------------------------
Total - CA $131.10

So are these good choices?

I would buy my elites of the same type to form one unit. I just started again and what I am doing is just slowly amassing units. Taking the time to paint and sculp them to how I want them before moving on, but if your in a hurry to play soon I would say go for it.

Ooohhh yeah! Another Canadian! ;D Anyways...
If you have no clue what your getting, then you should take the approved method of buying stuff! Asking! lol...
My first army was also Eldar, but I made the mistake of doing what you are doing and buying random and cool looking stuff! Here is some suggestions:

1)Go on the GW Website and go into the eldar...there you will surely find some sample army lists and other cool stuff!

2)Go to the GW Store and talk to the guys there, for they know what you need (I should know, I'm an employee!)

3)My advice for a first time eldar player? Buy some stuff on the list:
Eldar Codex - $20 CA
1 Bilster Farseer - $14 CA
2 Boxes Guradian Defender squads - $40 CA each
2-3 Blister Warlocks (Farseer as a Bodyguard or Guardian Leaders) - $14 CA each

And then from there, it is your own choice! Ohh, a note on your list...

Eldar Codex - CA $20
Eldar Farseer - *CA $14 1 Model
Eldar Warp Spiders - CA $14 2 Models
Eldar Guardians Battle Squad - CA $40 16 Models
Eldar Rangers - CA $14 2 Models
Eldar Swooping Hawks - CA $12 2 Models

And from what is given above, you will only be able to make 1 squad or guardians and 1 farseer legal to play...really consider my advice above! Post back!

Thanks for the advice Aunat.
So now I have on my list
1 Farseer
2 Packs o' Warlocks
and a Pack of Guardians

And now I have around 32 dollars left over, anything else I should buy?

The codex? that sounds like a sweet start! You'll be able to make 2 sqauds of 8 guradians, therefore covering up the essential HQ and 2 Troops slot! Later

Ya, I forgot to tell you that the 32 dollars is with the codex included, so I still have 32 dollars. Maybe I'll buy 2 packs of rangers. And BTW a blister of rangers comes with 3, not two, accroding to the site: "A blister contains 3 random models." that's in the description for Rangers. Or maybe I'll buy one pack and buy some paints or brushes or something.
