Default Are they really that bad?

The fancy walkers/skimmers of the Eldar 'dex were always one of the foremost things that drew me to the army, but then I read the "new codex" sticky. Are Eldar vehicles really as bad as they say?

Just like anything in warhammer it all depends on how you use them, what you use them with, and what you use them against.

Simple as that.

You'll have to make a decision for yourself.

It has been said that the Eldar Wave Serpant is the best transport in the game.

Having never used it (yet), I can't back up that statement, but I will point out that the Eldar's main tank, the Falcon, can mount troops. No other race's combat-capable tank can do this. All Eldar vehicles are skimmers too, like Tau units, and don't have to worry about rough terrain.

I don't know of any serious cons other than the fact that they are big targets, like all vehicles are.

With the Energy field on front, the wave serpent may as well have armour 14 to S10 guns..... need I say more?

YES WAVESERPENTS ROCK ....... I use 3-5 waveserpents at any given time. 3 of them are the old armor cast ones. Yep I have fewer squads but the faster army dictates the battle. Can't get any better..... i mean wow gear for anti troop 9 DA+1 exarch and blade storm with waveserpent w Shuriken cannon upgrades thats 32 troop shots and 6 vehicle shots 3 of witch are rerollable..and that is turn 2 delivery almost anywhere on the board ...36" (24 turn 1 then 12 turn 2)...
