First of all, what style of battle are you considering?

Mobility - Saim Hann

Psychic Powers/Strike Force - Ulthwe

Aspect Warriors - Biel tan

Wraithlords/Wraithguard - Iyanden

or something else..

then dizzy is a good guy to ask...basically with saim han you are choosing a very fast army! this is probably going to be outnumbered most times on the battlefield and have a low model count to, you will need to counter this with your mobility to keep you alive and to win, luckily most people regard mobility as essential in any basic tactic so saim hann are a very tactical army. Secondly beware the army will probabyl cost a lot to make...so don't aim for 1500points straight away....and finally im sure you already know but saim hann can only choose 1 heavy support, this will probably be a falcon for you to keep with the mobility so if you want some heavy weapons, starcanons and bright lances etc. you should take many vypers...if i were you id start off your army buy buying a squad or two (small ones!) of jetbikes, 3 vypers, and a falcon, also for HQ you will probably need to convert a farseer to get him on a jetbike (see other topics for advise about this guy but its a very nice unit!)

Ahh, Saim Hann, fine choice. Probably one of the best choices out there. Your going to have to deal with being outnumbered, like 42 said, and if you decide not take a converted jetbike farseer, I'd take Nuadhu Fireheart. I mean, a special character for 75 pts., pretty good deal if you ask me. kinda off topic, but about the converted jetbike farseer, i played this guy who converted it with green stuff to make it look like the Farseer had a leather jacket, and he dubbed him " Fonz - Seer" ;D

If Samm Hain is what you want then Diz is the man, If you change to Biel-Tan Lemme know, I'll help you out on how to make a good non-cheese army that will not only win but few people can complain about.

ok, now that you have made the correct Craftworld choice ;D, what kind of points are we looking at here? its best not to shoot too high here as Vypers cost a lot (and vypers are what make saim haan great, jetbikes are a bit pricey now but they'll get a break in the new codex and they have their uses ATM)

for Example I'll post my combat patrol so you can see a little bit of the Saim Haan goodness on offer .

4 Vypers
-Starcannons
260pts

3 Jetbikes
-Warlock
-Wychblade
-Destructor
-Ghosthelm
141pts

401pts Total

now that is a lot of starcannons in 400pts and might be called for cheeze by some but it works and the 7 models and inherent fragility make up for it IMO.

GO WITH SAIM HANN....stupid caps lock. anyways saim hann rule they got the vypers that can have lots of big boomers, and they can move around a lot, the downside though is only one heavy support, but it still works fine for me(and no i dont use a falcon)

In that case, so is sex. Therefore, pornstars and prostitutes are professional athletes.
