Default Starting Iyanden mobile army

Since I have almost everything I want painted and ready for my Tau army new challenges lies ahead. I have been thinking of starting an Iyanden force for a while now (I just love those Wraithguard models) and could need some advice.

My first question is: Is there anyone who uses Wraithguard in Waweserpents? My idea is to have two 5-man squads in serpents and two Wraithlords as a core. Does this work and how shall I use them? What equipment for the Wraithlords?

I will have a Farseer with one squad and a Warlock with the other. Any suggestions for wargear and psychic powers?

Now, the most important question: What shall I expand with? I guess I will need things that are effective against infantery. Is there any idea to go CC or is it better to stay shooty? Guardin Defenders? Vypers with two Shuriken Cannons? Striking Scorpions? Something else?

Thankful for all advices?

hmmm.... interesting conundrum.

I'd be enlined to go with this.

-Enhance (possibly conceal for an invunerable for your expensive guys but enhance makes them monsters in CC)

a well rounded list with much starcannon death, the 'Lords were given BL to take advantage of their BS and the Vypers are there to add more Starcannon death to the army, the Wraithguard can be used as either shooty or CC squad. IMO, burn up in the Ws and dont disembark, next turn pile out and fire the assault Wraithcannons and charge with enhance thats 10 WS5 S5 I5 attacks (not counting the warlock who is wounds on 2+ at WS5 ;D) , Brutal by any means. the Seer stays in the falcon and fortunes the most at risk unit and the scorps infiltrate and charge vunerable stuff :P.

not my best list but it would eb a dream to paint and game with.

Hmm.. Not bad but there still seems to be problems against light infantery. Maybe the assault power should be enough, though. In the amount of points your list shows (1500?) another Wraithguard unit and Wraithlord is tempting.

If you had to deal with Infantry I suggest putting the Scorps in the Falcon, and equipping the Vypers with EML's which can handle vehicles and troops.
Give the Wraithlords a Scatter Laser and a Star Cannon. That should be a more anti-troop choice (although Scorps in a WS with Haywire grenades could be v.effective vs armour.)
Also, instead of Mindwar you could take Eldritch Storm, which is great againt swarms and large weak squads. O0

Should be about the same amount of points overall.

against light troops the list should work fine but if you want the added assurance (although it will nolonger be death incarnate to marines)

Switch the vypers to Scatterlasers, give the farseer a JB and put the scorps in the falcon and have 20 points to play with.

IMo its balanced and should perform fine vs light troops with all the tank shocking goodness.

Hmmm I'm not up on my Eldar abbreviations. Whats JB??

I like the list that dizzygamer(on Holiday,6 weeks) suggsted. I only galnced at it, but it seems very effective.

More anti troop? Starcannons are anti troop! At S6 AP3, it reaps death!

lol, you copied the whole name ;D, just DZG will do .

and JB is a Jet Bike.

starcannons are antitroop but against Orks and guard Scatterlasers are of more use.

I just have to finish my last few Tau models, then I am off trying collecting some Iyanden. Thanks everyone for the comments. I will propably be posting a 1000p list soon in this thread to get some more comments. You have to start somewhere...

Ahhh, yes. The Jet Bike. A little to fragile in my eyes, but it definatly compliments the Wraithguards somewhat sluggish tactics.

lol. Yeah, I was too lazy to think up of an abbreviation, so I copied and pasted :P. Gotta love that tool!

I'm not sure about the fragility of the jetbike, with a farseer on this guy will be harder to kill than 3 wraithguard (invulnerable, turbo etc) this makes him the second toughest unit in the Eldar army.
