Default Linear aspect eldar armies

I've been toying conceptually about building an eldar army that is unusual and unexpected. While I've worked around the all avenger in waveserpant idea, I've also started toying around with other possible all-single-aspect type of army.

What about all firedragons in skimmers with guardian platforms and H support weapons?

I understand the dragons need to get very close to be effective, but it is still a possible direction for me to travel. Anyone have any thoughts?

It's iffy - seeing multiple identical squads makes alot of people scream "cheese".

However, Biel-Tan can do some pretty cool things that way. All-mech Banshees will have trouble with high-toughness targets, all-infltrating Scorpions will have no ranged power, all Warpspiders lack AP, all-mech Fire Dragons do amazing in close but lack CC ability, all Dark Reapers suffer simmilar model count and worse saves than Deathwing, all-mech Avengers are pretty mediocre... and footslogging Aspects are totally screwed, period.

Eldar are specialized, and it's aspects that portray this; going with all of a single Aspect will screw you out of the diversity you realy need to triumph.

Well as far as cheese goes, I've never cared about the "unwritten" rules of the game.

I realize the aspects are specialized, but I'm looking at effectiveness from another direction. This game in tournaments is 90% terriroty based. Capture this quarter, hold this building, deny that one, etc. I'm contemplating building my eldar army, not to fight, but to create chaos in the enemy plan and hold/contest quarters in the end game. Quarters for example, means basically a win of 2 to 1 or 2 to none, or even 1 to none for the win if equal opponants. By concentrating near the end of the game, while using the first 4 turns or so only for long range heavy attacks, the I think I can develop a plan that would deny quarters by concentrating and winning quarters. In other words, enemy strengths are ignored in favor of weaker units as targets, and by mobility.

Just looking for a way to power up something

Lord Firestorm,

I have seen single aspect "Shrine Armies" led by their Pheonix Lords on three occasions. Two of these were allowed in tournament. (Despite the Special Character status os their Pheonix's) The first was an all-fire dragon army led by Fuegan the Burning Lance. It consisted of six Squads of Fire Dragons mounted in a combination of Wave Serpents and Falcons. It used SoS (Storm Serpent, also known as Fish of Fury among the Tau) to block enemy assaults and screen their reletively fragile Dragons. The Second was an all-Dire Avenger Army that used a similar principal, but which also included Vypers and War Walkers to add to their available long-range firepower. The last was an all-Dark reaper army used as a part of the Eye of Terror Campaign. (To represent the force of Reapers who came to Ulthwe with Maugan-Ra). Again this list made use of Falcons and Wave Serpents to help the reapers stay mobile, and to act as a mobile Wall against assault troops. Are you starting to see a theme here?
In each case the shrine made a large use of vehicles to make up for the deficincies of their aspect. The sad part of all this is that Shrine-army lists will no longer be legal as of the end of the month... :'( (Which is too bad, as I've always wanted to do a Striking Scorpion Shrine-Army...)

TTFN,
Ged
