this is my saim hann army called the dragon riders. tell me what you think.

A *LOT* of Vypers there....

Your close calls might have to do with the small number of models. On the other hand, I do have to ask: Isn't the Vyper Squad a 1-2 unit choice, not 1-3?

you can have three in a unit, i know that for a fact(being a long time saim hann player and all )

Saim-Hann have Fast attack as core choices, rather than troops. The minimum army is one HQ and two fast attack.

You have a few spare points and room in that wave serpent for more banshees...

i just decided to change the banshee's to striking scorp's cause my bro is finishing his ork army for x-mas and i helped him make it and it's gonna be a tough on to beat.

well, myself this looks good but I'm worried about the huge squad of JB, if it gets assaulted you have lost a **** load of points, I would push for playing 2500pts w/ 2 FoC if not i'd go for a more unconverntional SH army (assuming vs. orks most of the time) take the seer on JB and a small 3 man JB squad for him to abise the IC rule w/ (hitherto known as ghosting cos it sounds cool ;D) give the seer eldtrich storm to fry some orks and give the JB squad a cannon and warlock w/ destructor. orks fear this template combo of doom ;D also take the requisite amount of vypers (lots ;D)most w/ scaller but some w/ starcannon, and a unit of shining spears , these guys and a falcon (your next pic) will be all the tankhunter you need. then comes the unconventional part, dire avengers in WS with TLScartterL this makers orks cry, the improved BS should up the kill ratio and with only 10 spaces in the WS they are better than guardians for this purpose. this gives an exeptionally lethal force for ork killing while still maintaining compettetiveness with other armies. ill cook up a list if you want just ask (PM me aswell cos im on holiday and dont check up very often)

p.s. wildrider kinsmen arent good enough for their points, certainly not vs marines or orks.

wow awsome advice the only thing i have any qualms about are the dire avengers. i don't know how to use them, when i play an army i have to know the bests and worsts for the units i have never played with them so what would i use them for, to shoot? to go into h2h? but the scatter lasers sound great for the wave serpent, and my seer does have the storm and i will give him a 3 man squad. i'll pm you for a list of things if you dont mind. thnx for the advice

WEll that was a marathon.

ok so we have two of the farseer and JBtemplates of doom squads here, inflated to 5 as i had a load of points left and no FoC slots left ;D this I felt was the best way to spend them as it dramatically increases the survivability of the squad.

another point of contention for me was the scorpions, they are the best ork and horde fighters in the Eldar list and thus they were in but the decision of wether to stealth or serpent was hard, in the end I went for serpent as the cannons will add punch to the squad and get them out if they look to get overwhelmed, also there were spare points and increasing survivability was a concern. the Exarch was left without his claw as I felt that striking first vs orks was more valuable than denying them their already bad save.

the dire avengers, also another bone of contention, because of the limited FoC slots of Saim Hann these got the bill instead of guardians as they have a better time in CC but really outshine guardians in the shooting phase, BS4 gives them the edge over guardians as a WS can only carry 10 dudes. them popping out with the TLSL and their shuricats will dramatically reduce the size of an ork mob, this can be followed up by a charge of two DA squads or a DA and Scorps to finish the squad (god bless assault 2 ;D, this is another advantage over guardians). all in all they may take some getting used to so trial them first but give them a good try .

the rest should be fairly self explanatory the shining spears are the best tankbusters ever, I prefer them to dragons as they never get caught out and are more mobilt to claim quarters (plus that good old BS5 BL helps too ;D) JB's piggyback the seers and mince some mobswhile the falcon is what its description suggests a tank.

I dont belive in specifically tailoring a whole list so I have left things in this list (the Starcannons) to make it compettetive with non-Ork or non-Horde armies aswell.
