I've been dabbling with the Eldar race for quite a while, and so far it has just been vanilla armies...well..fragments of armies. Lately I've started thinking about what armies I would like to play, and Saim-Hann AND Beil-tan came to mind.
I would'nt mind taking Beil-tan simply because I love most of the aspects, and would love to take more of them. The color scheme is pretty versatile (which I like), with several combinations of Grey, Green, and White. I would love to paint some models like this! I would'nt mind taking a Saim-Han(n?) list simply because I like the speed at which it can play. The only problem I see here is simply $$$. I would love to paint up a Saim-Han(n?) army, and the conversions for those "Wild-Cheifs" or what ever their called, would be excellant opportunities to increase my skill. I was wondering if you guys can give me a basic list I can start with for both armies... I have'nt looked to much into Saim-han(n?) yet, so any advice for them would be greatly appreciated. This is what I was thinking for Beil-Tan: HQ Farseer w/ 2 warlock body guards TROOPS 2x10 Dire Avengers 5 Dark Reapers 4 Howling banshees w/ exarch HEAVY SUPPORT Falcon Grav Tank I really like that list, simply because it has two hard hitting units (the DA's) and the Dark Reapers can take care of any resilient units. The banshees will ride in the Falcon and assault where its crucial that a certain unit needs to be taken out. If needed, I could take Wave Serpants for the DA, and I will keep the Farseer close to the DR so he can cast fortune, and other goodies. What do you think? Any other BT suggestions? Also SH suggestions are greatly appreciated! Ender

well, im in favour of Saim Hann........well of course ;p. they are quite amazing
http://forums.tauonline.org/index.ph...35409#msg35409 taking these lists as an example (shameless plugs ;D ) both man 3 starcannons in 400pts , some good i hear. one list they are on sniper Vypers which reroll difficult terrain and have a warlock and a squad for support( the other has Nuhadu! O0 ) as you probably can see with a few more points this list could be made more versatile adding some light troop killers and maybe a dedicated tankbuster, savagery assured. To conclude Go Saim Hann !! ;D

I am in vavour of Saim-Hann mainly because I play the army. My army consists of 7 guardian jetbikes w 2 shuriken cannons, 3 vipers all w starcannons a farseer on a jetbike, and a falcon. I love this army list mostly b/c it hits hard and fast with plenty of firepower and when the farseer casts fortune on the jetbikes they can wthstand a lot of return fire. The entire army can move shoot and move back into cover if you upgrade the vehicles with CTM. This makes them even harder to destroy.

Saim hann, saim hann, saim hann, and saim hann. their the best( i think ) they are very fast which can be awsome, the vypers are not nice either if you soup the up wit some heavy weapons, the only downsides are that they caose a lot(both $ and points) and that they only have one heavy support.

Saim-Hann are expensive in $$$, but the points cost makes up for it. Biel-Tan only require a few blisters to get a decent army, but they lack speed and resilience, two things I like in Eldar.
Go Saim-Hann, they are less common anyway and will earn you all sorts of cool comments if you get the conversions right. And I like them more. |

Sorry for the late post, I forgot I had posted this. I hate posting in forums I hardly post in :P
Any way, Thanks guys, I'll be looking aorund for Saim-Hann conversions, and I remember seeing a Farseer on a Jet Bike Conversion using a BFG Eldar ship. I'll have to see if I can find it again, especially since I saw it on EO, but their down for the moment... Ender

I'd personally go for Biel-tan because of money issues, and the fact that there just isn't enough diversity in the models in Saim-Hann armies.
But I do love Vypers and Falcons so If I had the cash It would be a difficult choice! Though I agree that Wild Rider chiefs can make intersting conversions...you could always include Warlocks or Farseers on Jetbikes in a Biel-tan army... I would swap the 5 Reapers for 10 Scorps, but again that's just personal preference.

I'd personally go for Beil-tan, they're much more tactically flexible and you can still have a mobile Beil-tan army with Farseers and Warlocks on Jetbikes. I think that Beil-tan is just a better - 'all round' Craftworld. Besides they'll be cheaper money wise and points wise, mainly because Jetbikes are too expensive in my opinion. Besidse with only one heavy support choice you won't be able to use both the Falcon and the Reapers.
