"Vanilla" refers to playing a straight codex army, and not opting for any subcodex rules.
In the case of Eldar, it means you are playing a "standard craftworld", one whose rules are entirely contained in the main Eldar codex, and not using any of the major craftworld rules in the "Craftworld Eldar" subcodex.
