hey people i have an ulthwe army and am thinking of switching to alaitoc any tips on alaitoc tactics would be pretty cool. the main reason id play alaitoc is because i like shooty armies and i figured that i can use rangers as bait and then back them up with warp spiders or swooping hawks. also i see my self more of an outcast then a black guardian. ;D

A sound choice, I like the look of Alaitoc myself, but I'm still collecting Ulthwe!
Having never played them I can't offer much Alaitoc-specific tactical advice, but I can offer help if you have any specific questions.

I tried the army out once when I was helping my nephew decide what craftworld he wanted. Obviously- Alaitoc armies rely heavily on ranger firepower- which can be deadly en masse, along with ranger disruption rolls, but the army feels like "static tau" to some degree.

I would proxy a game or two and see if it's to your liking. Also- please don't min/max Ranger squads for the sake of more disruption rolls. It's quite beardy, and I'd hate to see yet even more Eldar haters due to careless powergaming.

Is alaitoc the one with all the rangers? Because there was an article on converting alaitoc guardians, pathfinders, farseers from wood elf sprues in the canadian W.D supplement.
