I'm forming ideas about making a Hammerhead with a (removable) nose mounted Ion Cannon - much like the one on a Baracuda. The question is, how do I go about it?

I'm sure I'll work it out myself when I have the kit in my hands, but I'd love to hear other people's thoughts/comments in the idea.

Sounds like your going to have to cut into the bottom of the kit and make a channel into it big enough for the front section of the ion cannon to fit into.
Then use plastic card to form around it like a U and that way you can slide it in or out.

Maybe magnets could help you out also?

Look at the competitions board, and in the open vehicle competition -- http://forums.tauonline.org/index.ph...6787#msg146787 entry D to be exact. Try and get in contact with the member that submitted that perhaps to ask for advise/ideas.
