Default Interchanging Ork Lootas & Burnas

Hi guys.

I got my set of Lootas and I was thinking of being able to switch my weapons instead of buying another set. Though the thing is, I would go for pinning since Magnetizing is abit hard to go by, I don't know where to get magnets of that size and power in Malaysia.

I'm gonna pin them I suppose, but I need to know some advice or tips on these guys, it's harder than I thought, needing to pin not just the shoulders but the backpack and best not to glue those together, so I actually have 3 Deff Gun parts to take off and on, and 3 Burnas too.

Calaban did a great tutorial on how to make boyz modular. You'd have to adapt it a bit because of the backpacks, but the process would be similar. http://forums.tauonline.org/index.ph...c,92010.0.html

Honestly though both units are worth owning, and I don't think its worth the trouble to make them interchangeable. I'd suggest using everything in the lootas box to make lootas. That means no meks and no burnas from that box. If you look at my project log I have a unit of 10 lootas there, and only 4 of them are the actual models; the other 6 are converted from the burnas/meks in the box plus the big shoota boyz that come with AOBR and the boyz box. I also did a tutorial on how to make burnas from regular boys, and you can get bits at your local store or from Ebay. http://forums.tauonline.org/index.ph...c,61113.0.html

Unfortunately, my local retailers aren't keen on hanging onto bits that I can use them. They probably won't be having bits unless I trade with someone for it, which can be pricey on some occasions.

I've been wondering about Calaban's pinning techniques, I'll try getting my hands onto those pin vise and whatnot. Hopefully it ain't too hard.

The hard part for Orks is that the best units seems to be both. I love Lootas, don't get me wrong but I also love Burnas, they're power weapons and strike on their initiative, which is ideal sometimes. (Correct me if I'm wrong, I just heard this from alot of people)

Otherwise, it's a waste to let my Burna bitz go, and I might consider the flamers against Nids, because I'll be fighting someone with that setup soon.

Besides, I'm on a tight budget so I can't just go wild on more lootas or boyz. Even if they're not that expensive.

Remember burnas are power weapons if they didnt shoot in the same turn. They are a must have in my standard lists for taht reason. Your either against an army where templates hurt, or power weapons hurt.

That's why it's so tempting to interchange them, I don't want to lose one or the other. So I guess having to pin them is the most reliable way to save myself another pack of lootas just because I want them burny.

ork boys are so inexpensive with the advent of AoBR.
what I did to free me of the hassle was attach the extra bits to an AoBR ork body.
so I got me 3 sets of burnas and 3 sets of lootas. ;D
