Another Chaos Marine from the 'possessed CM' box.
I have done a few Chaos Marines lately, starting off with simple paintwork and greenstuff conversions. For this model I wanted to go a lot further and stretch myself in both areas. -That mission is accomplished, though I still lack the skills to get where I wanted to go. A new Tactical marines box should help some ![]() This model had a lot of the detailing removed to make space for my Nurglish alterations, including chopping off the right leg to make place for the horns from the 'bulls head' (I'm not sure what to do with the rest of that head, but a noise marine would be fun...) Here are the before and after pics of some of the parts: ![]() All prepared, time to splash some basecolors on the poor thing: ![]() Done! (shhh!, and he might not notice you )![]() Too late... I'm very happy with how the metal came out, less so with the snotblob -but at least I have learned one new technique! ![]()

I like him, and your right the metal looks awesome, the snotball and the other greens needs some more work, did you use any washes? they can really help you get some mode shadow and depth in the mini.
I keep thinking of a peg-legged pirate when i see him tho :P

Thanks!
I tried to stay away from the 'traditional' yellowish shades on the nurglons (or whatever they're called), so this is the result until I can figure out a better color scheme for them. The only wash used is Thraka green on space wolves grey, then I used two brushes for the rust effect (using solar orange); One wet brush to lay a thin coat of water on the part I paint, and one that is just moist with very little paint on the tip. That way I can push the paint around almost at will, and get a very light wash in the end. The leg was supposed to be a hoof, but as it turned out I agree that it's more of a peg-leg ![]() I just have to plan better on the next conversion...
