Got two defilers partly assembled, looking for suggestions for the DCCW arms for them, using two on each as these are gonna be heavy assault units. If possible, want to make magnetized arms that can be swapped with the standard weapon mounts as needed, just in case I change my mind. Having a hard time making DCCWs that look like they fit with the models. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hmm..
I had a similar problem, but I had 2 extra Defiler limbs to chop up for the job.. Well, for one you could use that massive array of whips they have for the left arm, for the right, dunno, maybe have a go with some plasticard? Right now I am simply too tired to even think of drawing up what come to mind, but if you give me a shout [pm or reply here] then I'd be happy to do some doodles/ instructions for you to build a whole new arm .Hmm, you could go check the dreadnought thing in my sig ¬_¬ It's not too great, but it could give you an idea or 2.

Perhaps you could look at demonic or daemonic pictures and think of something they have. Maybe make a Mini-Warp Portal, that has a greater daemon arm coming out of it

Daft git Wouldn't that breach the defilers seals? I did post this a while ago, maybe it could give you ideas?

Been done :P
My lead Defiler has his close combat arm just a gaping hole with a bunch of claws and poky demonic stabby bits flailling out and about. In reality, I just left the turret off and glued a bajillion tyranid close combat biomorphs into the gap. It looks fine, especially when painted up it will look nice and demonic. |

Would like tight with a single snaking multi-armed thing and make the warp portal out of GS like a sideways puddle with rippling effects.....

Thanks, those're some good ideas . . . hmm, apart from buying some spare defiler legs/arms to build on and not having found plasticard in any local stores, I'm wondering what would make a strong enough frame for a couple arms onto which I could model some claws with GS and bitz, similar to Marc's second suggestion. I've got some decent thickness wire, maybe if I bundle it up five or six strands thick twisted together it'll hold the weight of a big enough claw to look "right". I just didn't want the upper arms to look the same as the lower ones . . . too boring. Got some lengths of chains, maybe I could wrap some around the new arms . . .

try some of the thin cardboard found on cereal packages and such, its not as strong as plasticard but if you give it a couple of coats of white glue or wood glue its strong enough to do stuff with

Yea, it is a bit much to buy new arms [or the kit if you can't access a bits site online] but just a single sheet of plasticard can make you a couple of arms similar to the defilers, if you know the sizes [I'm willing to help you there
].You could ask your local stores if they could stock plasticard, lots of people use it.
