Default Tau wearing cloth over their armour...

I want to put cloth on some of my FWs but I need a way to do this that looks good and doesn't cost seventeen bucks per sausage. If this doesn't make any sense at all tell me.

Accesory. Like pinned to their armour, the way SMs do it.

I've actually thought about puting loin cloths on fire warriors in a color that contrasts with their armor, though you'd probably have to modify the belt to make it work. I would think it wouldn't be too hard to green stuff it.

Games workshop had an article on their page a long time ago about puting capes on pathfinders which gave them a really war torn, urban look. I think they took the capes from some sort of vampire counts model.

one really good way to make weathere cloaks that look good and are cheap to create is simply using paper towels with a pva/water mix washed over them, they gain texture and are very sturdy if more than two layers of 50:50 pva:water are applied

Green stuff would work, I've heard a 2:1 blue:yellow mix lets you manipulate the stuff for a long time, but it eventually will harden normally. This was actually used to make cloaks for Tau.

I think those cloaks were metal, and from bitz order. So you probably can't get them without buying a bunch of blisters.

On the French GW website, they had a nice conversion for using dire avenger loincloths on firewarriors to make an honour guard for your ethereal.

The loin cloths that they are using come from the Eldar Dire Avengers Aspect Warriors

very cool conversion

Greenstuff is overrated...

You can use everything from Bondo to Milliput (what GW uses for many of it's figs).
Look around at alternatives to GW's ridiculous prices.

You can direct order tubes of greenstuff about 8" long and 3/4" thick from the company that sells it to GW for about the same cost as the little bit you get in the blisters at GW.
