well I just love the model and I must buy it ... only thing is that I only play tau at the moment. what should I do to make it look more tau-ish ... I'm looking for a extreme conversation soo replacing guns and putting tau symbols and tau guns on it is what I think of ... childish
I was thinking to make it look like the mammoth tank from CnC 3 any other ideas ??? also has any buddy done this already ... I would love to see pictures for inspiration I need all ideas ... even the small ones ...mainly because .. 2000 heads are better then one :P haha |

If youre gonna convert such a large model to Tau, why not just get a barracuda or something from forge world?
The problem being its such a different look from al things tau. The hard angles, rivets and weapons are all wrong for the normal tau look and design, youd have to remodel the whole thing. Better to have it a "captured" vehicle and replace the weapons and icons if anything

The Baneblade does not really fit the Tau way of war. It is too slow and too big a waste of resources, so they would rarely consider something like it. That is whay all Tau Super-heavies are Flyers. So I would probably invest in one of those, but I just think they look cool. 8)
But if you want a Baneblade, then I would make it a Gue'vessa tank. That would require the minimum amount of work, just file off any Imperial Icons and paint/sculpt some Tau symbols.

I started on one and scrapped it altogether, I bought the Baneblade and a few Devilfish engines. I planned to remove the tracks and spokes and placed the engines under the hull, 3 on each side. Like a hover Baneblade. Too much work though, plus it looked quite stupid. -.-

Here's the link to one that RZ did when the baneblade model came out -
http://forums.tauonline.org/index.php?topic=54938.0 He's got a step by step of how he did it, pictures wise. |

look for a starwars battle droid transport. They are 1/24th scale IIRC and make excellent Tau superheavy skimmer tank conversions.

If you like the idea of the model, I would focus on removing parts of the model and replacing them with Tau bitz. When you paint it, I would use different color schemes on different parts of the model. You want the whole thing to look like a hybrid, as a Baneblade hull that the Tau have remodeled.
