Everyone loves terminators (unless your on the opposing side of them) and I have finally sucummbed to their charm and got a box to act as a retinue for my sorcerer in Terminator armour. Being Thousand sons however I wanted the models to reflect that, so I've doen some head changes and am goign to sculpt some tabbards for them (I predict a disaster in the making but we'll see how it goes)
What I am stuck on is the power weapons. All of them are going to have power weapons in their left arms, and my Dad is goign to get me some brass rods for them today, what I want to know is what would you reccomend putting on the ends of them? (and where/what models to get said components from.) My first though was to count them as bedlam staffs but it does seem that a blade or something on the end might be better. So that you can help me reach a decision and to enjoy the terminator goodness here are some pics of them in progress (click on the thumbnails to increase their size) First up: Team photo ![]() Front shot of the "kai Gun" guy (It will function as a reaper autocannon, but I added a few wires and a scroll of writign to make it look more daemonic and psycic powered ![]() "respect!" One of the normal bolter and power weapon guys ![]() Another bolter and powerweapon guy (though he has a power blade on his gun it seems) ![]() Another chainsword and Bolter guy, who will also have a power weapon (by now you can tell that this isn't an anti-tank unit) ![]() Side Views! I think they are all in the same order so i'll add no comments to these, though the Kai gun you can see the wires on the back, the chain and the scroll. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So comments are welcome and appreciated, If you don't like them feel free to say so, as there is no wrong opinion (no right one either though :P)

Well just stick any sort of axe or blade on the end
As for the tabbards, I get the plastic stuff from the greenstuff, roll flat a piece of green stuff so its really thin, cut out a square peel it off and then I twist it and nudge it to make folds (make sure its all quite wet) and then just leave it, even leave a little extra on and hang it up to it doesn't unfold ![]() Works perfectly

Id say take a look at some history online. Thousand-sons are Egypt style, so look into what they wouldve had then and there as a hand weapon. Probably some form of club, since metal was hard to come by there. I dunno but its a start

Good work so far Hadhfang!
![]() As for Power Weapons I would recommend some type of Halberd which were used widely during the Horus Heresy by the Thousand Sons. Sculpting tabbards won't be an easy thing to do, but once you get a technique going it should become easier. |

Hey, thanks for the replies guys!
Having looked at the internet I'm thinking of going for something like the middle sword shown here Which I should be able to stick on the top of a pole. What would you suggest I make it out of? I can think of plasticard and movement tray so far, are there any other materials that might work? (also, I've sculpted some tabbards, I'll update the pics when I can, and show off my "counts as" Obliterator.)

I will drill the bolter muzzles, it's on my to-do list, along with "purge mould lines" I want to assemble them fully first and drill things last because then I'm satisfied that they are ready for the painting.
