Default My take on Vectored Thrust (WIP)

I offered this idea in someone else's thread about VRT.

In addition to adding extra thrusters to a crisis suit, I thought it would be a cool idea to have legs that would allow the suit to spring away more quickly. Here is what I have so far.

I made the extra leg joint out of various pieces of the flamer cut up and pinned together. I'm thinking of adding more to him to make the legs less skinny, and he needs to be painted the rast of the way, but there you have it.

Now I just need my magnets to come in the mail...

It's a decent conversion ian and of itself. The idea behind it is good too. It just throws the proportions out of the window (not that I ever liked the stubby arms that much that came with stock suits).

Sigh... tell me about it

I'm currently looking into ways to go about fixing the arms up. I have nothing as of right now. Maybe it will look better once I get the guns attached.

I sorta like the way the FW stuff incorporated the guns and arms together with the weapons underneath the arm in one big mass/locking thing. Something is still off when I look at even those arms though...I don't know what I'm going to do to satisfy how I want them to look myself ??? .

Hmm, That's really nice and it definitely adds a lot of "motion" to his pose. However I might of used a different bit for the legs, perhaps the lower section of another crisis? or bits from the Tomb Spider's leg. But it does look pretty cool.

As far as the stubby arms go a while back someone had a thread in which they improved everything on their crisis. On of the improvements was an arm extension. I'll see if I can fetch a link in a moment.

Edit: Here it is.

It's a good conversion, looks sorta Mech Warriorish to me.

However, something is wrong about the joint where the 'real' Crisis legs meet the 'conversion'. That ball joint seems a little small for the legs.

I blame GW for this one. This part is the least of my worries though.

Thanks for the link N19eteen. Still no progress on the arms.

IMO, you should remove the "shins" of the original suit, so he gets these beefed up shins. it would cut down on the disporportion and still look powerful.

There's an archive around here somewhere where a guy did all of his suits joints backwards...

Looks wonderful
