Default Tau Bounty Hunter (wip)

I wanted to try my hands at some more greenstuff work.
So I did a Tau Bounty Hunter.

I have been thinking and working on his fluff etc.

When Tau land on a planet and take it for theres a few Aliens may still protest even though they have lost there planet to the greater good,

So some of these Alien scum will run.

Thats where Tau Bounty Hunters come in.
I have full rules and ideas and am working out the bugs on a codex I have written for them.
But thats another story let me show you my conversion first.

Heres my first try at so much sculpting ever.
A hole trench coat and arms.
And Some of my converted plasma pistols.

I also gave him a look as if he is posed looking down but out the top of his eyes waiting for an alien scum to "make the first move".

Well little nervous but heres my try at sculpting a trench.
It is nightime so yes the photos suck as usual when I cant wait to post them.
And no paint as of yet.

Front

back

Well input and feedback is as always welcome.

better than I could do w/ the sculpting but the bulkyness will lose its appearance w/ a good paintjob. some minor fluff conflicts but nice fluff and cool idea (also work as a Fio cast as the trench makes him look bulky ;D)

Not bad at all for cloth. It is one of the harder things to sculpt for most people. One bit of advice I can give you is folds. Use much thinner putty than you think you will need. By the time you push the putty around int folds and creases, and wind blown effects it will become much thicker in several spots. Thinner is better, you want the cloth to look light. Even if it nds up to thin the putty is a good base for another layer latter you can build over it. Also try doing a sleve at a time, then the coat on the body, then sleve, makes it easier. Not sure how much you did at once but from the look of it all was done in one go then detail folds were added.

Also I think it would look great without sleves letting the armoured arms stick through. Oh, and one more thing. Styleize as much as possible with cloth. Do not worry about extreem layers and folds. Throw a few curving folds, then let it set for a while. When the putty hardens more go in and tighten up the details, working folds closer together where the cloth is pinched by belts for example, or pull long curving folds away from the jacket. I hope this helps.

Again one more thing I forgot, look at SM models with cloth capes, and dark angels for example. The cloth is done very simple with them yet very, very effective. It is the same idea for your coat.

Default Excellent as always!

The GS work looks good, pretty smooth and easily recognizable for what it is - I like it a lot

He looks pretty rough and tumble as well, something I never really imagined saying about a Tau - so punk, gotta ask yourself, did I fire 6 bursts at 36" or 12 at 12", in all the cofussion, I'm not quite sure myself, so punk, are you feeling lucky?

;D Yes that is so funny way cool Justin Kase! ;D

Hey hive trygon.
Thank you alot.
I really appreciate someone as gifted as you taking the time to help me out.
I did the GS work all at once. Darn.
I did what I thought was thin sheets I rolled out.
I cut them and made armes and then I started the front and then the back.

But yes all at once.
So do stages. Darn.

So thanks alot man that will help me so much in the future.

And I tried to stay thin but its hard.
I never know what to do or how much.

I suck at art and actually failed it in high school.

So thank you so very much.

Hey know that hes dried and hard maybe I can sand him down t thin him out a little?

I was going to do that and file soe more grooves etc into him?

How does that sound?

Thanks alot everyone and thanks for the joke way funny!

Use a small file. I have the GW file set, and it works good enough for me. it comes with a flat, round and trianguler file, so you have a variety of files to pick from depending on what you need. An alternative is a small exacto knife or model knife and slowly shave away at it until you have the look you want. Hope that helps!
